Agree, and he admitted he just wanted this to "go away". That in itself is extremely suspect. A normal, innocent person would be outraged at these charges and allegations, and would be demanding justice and declaring innocence, not to mention voicing total outrage at the allegations.
That or they would be shaky and horrified of the crime alleged. Either reaction would lead to the probable sought after support of the spouse and denial of charges presented.
I know what Craig is trying to do. Despite all evidence making it very clear what happened and what he was doing, he thinks he can just say up is down and enough gullibles will latch on and start spinning away until the substance of what happened gets lost in “what ifs” that would make him qualified for sainthood. Ref. Clinton. We can see some of those gullibles here at Freerepublic trying desperately to spin this or believe it’s anything other then what it is.
It won’t work.
Dems will use this to attck the party as a whole gleefully. Republicans are still skittish after Foley and will want him out. Gays won’t like he’s a) a Republican and b) lying about his sexuality. The majority of the rest of the America places no premium on this Idaho Republican Senator retaining his job, not like he’s a quarterback for the Falcons after all...
And to top it all off Craig thinks his being gay or not is the most worrisome charge to deny. It’s not. he entered into a legal contract with his wife. gay or not, I’m pretty certain vows of fidelity come with that contract. Vows he obviously broke. Then there’s the need to do this in a PUBLIC bathroom children enter. It’s sick. I certainly wouldn’t want to enter a bathroom with this going on, but horrific any child should be exposed to this. Couldn’t even restrain himself and use a hotel room like the old days?
Nah, Craig is blowing smoke. that may have worked in ‘82, it’s not going to work now.
