The 35 Whelen is a great round but strictly for you sane people. I fireform 06 cases and load them as 375 Whelen Improved.
I took a Ruger No. 1 Tropical that a case-head separation flame-cut the chamber of and had a riflemaker rebarrel it for that round. I also had him put mounts forward on the barrel to accomodate a Leupold Scout Scope.
Other than the initial pain in the ass of developing a wildcat load, it's a great rig.

I reload and am fond of some of the great, but not popular, calibers. The 35 Whelen is one that should be more common than it is now.
I really like the 6mm Rem caliber ( its much better than the 243) and the 280 Rem, that for a 7mm is one of the best overall.
