I was not aware that there was any real doubt about Hoover’s private dress up games. But....in the Cold War context, perhaps, that could be true that it was all a KGB thing.
But....that would so far be the only exception to the general rule. It’s theoretically possible. But I have my doubts. And like I said, I didn’t know there was any serious denial about Hoover in this regard.
There’s no way those rumors about Hoover being a homosexual were false. He shared a house with Clyde Tolliver (sp?) f’goodness sakes!
It’s like Roy Cohn, who was also definitively proven to be a homosexual after he died of AIDS.
Same as Bob Bauman and Terry Dolan, both conservative Pubbies who were homosexuals that died of AIDS.
I imagine it must be Hell to have conservative beliefs on the one hand and be driven by horrible, evil impulses on the other hand, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be forthright in exposing politicians who do these things...
