What you said, was that the Spanish were celebrating Thanksgiving outside El Paso "100+" years before the Pilgrims landed. The Pilgrims landed in November 1620. Cortez landed in Mexico in March 1519 and completed his conquest of the Aztecs in August 1521. Now, when, exactly, did this Thanksgiving take place? "100+" is a bit vague. If it was 100+1, then it would have been November 1519, a month that found Cortez camped outside Tenochtitlan. If it was 100+2, then it would have been before Cortez had even left Cuba.

Then of course, there's the fact that no Spanish explorers penetrated up towards El Paso until Coronado in 1540.

There's little doubt that what you've half remembered is the Onate expedition Thanksgiving outside El Paso in 1598, but that isn't anything like "100+" years before the Pilgrims landed, unless in your mind a date that begins with a 15 is always 100 years before a date that begins with a 16.

in other words, you're STILL trying to "change the subject" away from your TAPESTRY OF LIES, that ruined your reputation FOREVER on FR & have made you a LAUGHINGSTOCK on the forum.

to ALL: post #964 is yet ANOTHER example of "bubba, the LIAR" trying DESPERATELY to get himself OUT of the WEB of lies that he spun & caught HIMSELF in.

every lie that he gets CAUGHT telling is EVERYBODY's/SOMEBODY's/ANYBODY's fault EXCEPT his own.

for example, on the SAME thread, he claimed that Cortez had NOT landed in Mexico in 1519 AND that he HAD landed, but was fighting the Aztecs, in 1519. this is NOT an OPINION, where a "difference in opinion" MIGHT exist. instead it is a KNOWING, intentional LIE told by "bubba ho-tep", who is willing to DO/SAY ANYTHING to "win" an argument.

WHEN caught in THAT lie by another FReeper, "bubba" tried to blame HIS lie on someone else, rather than to say, "i'm SORRY for this. When i posted it, i KNEW that i was being DECEITFUL."

fyi, THAT is the sort of LIAR that "bubba" is.

all readers should also note that "bubba, the liar" has ADMITTED to having been PERMANENTLY BANNED from FR under another "screen-name". WHICH banned FReeper he was is QUESTIONABLE. he SAYS that he used to be "Heyworth", the BIGOT, but i am convinced that he REALLY was "modernman", who was banned for "cyber-stalking" several FReepers & for other DISHONEST & BIGOTED practices.
