Gotta wonder if when these dogs were screaming in pain that Vick and his friends were watching, bobbing his head and uttering: "yeah, that's good... Real good..."
or
"No, keep the dog alive and do it again"
Just wondering...

I agree. No mention of the dogs.
His was such a cold "apology" that I would not call much of an apology. He appeared insincere, blamed it on "immaturity." I know both immature adults and teens and they would never get involved in anything as barbaric as dogfighting.
I am surprised his lawyers let him give such a lame statement. Or he is getting really bad advice from them.
Finding Jesus came a little too quickly, just days after his lawyer declared his innocence. He should have apologize long ago. Now it is too little too late.

I'm just going by the "between the lines" of what I heard Vick say at the presser. My own opinion. Goodell's going to be under -- is under, I bet already -- under a lot of pressure. Not only the money interests, and the race baiters, but some of the meaner players and "gotta be tough, all winnahs ah tough" coaches.
What would Vince Lombardi say, I wonder? I have no idea!

While it’s hard not to imagine he is just using this to improve his lot, it’s also true that for many people it takes being in the depths to see the light. Perhaps he really did hit bottom and see Jesus as the only hand up. I pray it’s true.

Animals are not the same as human children. Think about it. You're telling me.
Children are stringy, greasy and tough.
Marinade helps. Soy and vinegar.

When he was slaughtering all of the dogs, I would have thought that would have been a lot worse than finding out the Falcons want their signing bonus back or that he might spend a year or two away from his mansions.
It would be great to believe that he truly did find Jesus, but chances are he is paying somebody (or several) more money than you or I make a in a year, to tell him how to dress, how to talk, what to say to the cameras, etc., in order to try and hold on to his career.
The first thing a spin doctor (or image consultant or whatever) would tell somebody like him to do is to start talking about Jesus, because talking about Jesus plays well to certain audiences. It's an ugly truth, but that's the kind of person that they are.

If he is a sociopath, then rehabilitation will not work.
He apperd to have no remorse, everything was about him in the so-called apology, and he lied before. Why believe him now?
To: af_vet_rr
You’re likely right. But I always remember that Paul was killing Christians before he saw the light and turned his life around. As I said, I pray that he really did find Jesus. I suspect we will know soon enough.

IMMATURE? Note to Michael Vick: Shut up. No normal child could even listen to a description of what you did, and no decent human being of any age would have dreamed of doing what you did to your dogs. Immaturity has nothing to do with it. Go away, and let the people who love football take pleasure in the game again — and cheer real men.

I agree that immaturity had nothing to do with it but a sociopathic personality might have.

Nam, is Vick going to get rich when he is done paying back his debt to society...if you thought the $130 million with $27 million dollar the signing bonus was something, wait until Vick returns to the NFL, can you say 200 million dollar 45 signing bonus deal with all the other teams except the Falcons will dish out for Vicks services? If he does play again there is no way he will command what he did before all of this. The Falcons paid him that amount because they thought he had the potential to be a great quarterback. They gambled and lost. He's a spectacular athlete, but not a great quarterback, and the rest of the league knows it.

How quaint. It’ll take a few years to prove it though, Mr Vick. I’m sure you’ll be kept busy with a bunch of new adventures (e.g. NOT football or commercial endorsements) during that time.

Not a word about the poor dogs. This whole industry promotes a behavior that endangers innocent bystanders, especially children. If Vick and his cohorts in crime can't see that, well... (muttering to self)

There is a big difference in electrocuting a humanwho has committed heinious crimes and made a choice to do so and electrocuting a helpless animal who has NO say so about his circumstances. Do you eat beef and or pork???

The contract, dated Dec. 24, 2004, has a signing bonus of $7.5 million included, plus roster bonuses of $22.5 million in 2005 and $7 million in 2006. That $29.5 million, I believe, is not retrievable, For doling out that kind of money so irresponsible, Falcon certainly deserves to be screwed!!!
