Lowry: The CIA's record leading up to Sept. 11 was one of failure By Rich Lowry Article Last Updated: 08/25/2007 09:07:06 AM MDT

The new report from the CIA's inspector general about the spy agency's pre-9/11 failings could be titled, ''What We Did During Our Holiday From History.'' The stretch between the end of the Cold War and the Sept. 11 attacks was supposed to be a shiny new era of globalized peace and prosperity, to which an intelligence service was considered quaintly irrelevant.

The CIA conformed to the zeitgeist by remaining quaintly irrelevant. George Tenet presided over the agency, failing his way to the second-longest tenure of any director of central intelligence, a Presidential Medal of Freedom and a $4 million book advance. He made the Peter Principle work for him not just by advancing to his level of incompetence, but by benefiting from it handsomely.

Congressional Democrats pushed for the release of the scathing IG report, completed back in June 2005, to embarrass the Bush administration. But most of the failures identified in the report took place during the Clinton administration, which set the CIA's skewed priorities and selected Tenet in the first place. President Bush should be embarrassed only because he didn't fire Tenet upon taking office or after 9/11, while Bush also has failed to undertake a serious retooling of the sclerotic bureaucracy that is the CIA.

Tenet took terrorism seriously, ''sounding the alarm about the threat to many different audiences,'' in the words of the report. Maybe he should have gone on a lecture tour. Where Tenet fell down was in managing his agency. The thought may be father to the deed, but without the actual deed, the thought is only political cover in after-the-fact memoirs.

Tenet insists that he had a ''robust plan'' against al-Qaida. In reality, he only thought he had. He directed that such a plan be formulated, but according to the IG report, it never happened. Worse, Tenet did not ''work with the National Security Council to elevate the relative standing of counterterrorism in the formal ranking of intelligence priorities.''

In Tenet's defense, he operated within the context of a Clinton administration that basically was uninterested in intelligence. Tenet notes that the intelligence community lost 25 percent of its personnel in the 1990s and ''tens of billions of dollars in investment compared with the 1990 baseline.'' He implored the administration for funding increases in 1998 and 1999, but had to go ''outside established channels to work with then-Speaker Gingrich to obtain a $1.2 billion budgetary supplemental.''

Even with more resources, his managers repeatedly moved funds from counterterrorism programs to other needs, without ever raiding other programs to fund counterterrorism, according to the IG report. What could be more important than counterterrorism? Analytic resources were poured into addressing more pressing matters like the Balkans and the environment.

After 9/11, Clinton officials and Tenet argued whether the CIA had been granted the authority to kill Osama bin Laden, with the Clintonites, in a bout of retrospective bloodlust, insisting that it had. The IG report finds that restrictions on the CIA killing bin Laden had been ''arguably, although ambiguously, relaxed'' for a brief period in late 1998 and early 1999 (how Clintonian). But CIA managers refused ''to take advantage of the ambiguities,'' and even if they had, the agency didn't have the covert-action capability to kill bin Laden. Such was life during history's holiday.

What's more scandalous is how the CIA has escaped serious reform even today. Two CIA directors in a row have resisted the IG report's recommendation for an accountability board to evaluate the pre-9/11 performance of CIA officials. That word - not ''board,'' but ''accountability'' - raises hackles at Langley, where everyone is above-average at fighting al-Qaida. Even though as many as 60 CIA employees knew that two of the hijackers were in the U.S. before 9/11 and no one managed to get the word to the FBI, CIA Director Michael Hayden thinks holding anyone accountable for that or other failures would be ''distracting.'' And so the band plays on.

West Palm Beach water system cleansing underway, but boil water order continues

West Palm Beach water system cleansing underway, but boil water order continues

WEST PALM BEACH - Chlorine began flowing this morning to cleanse West Palm Beach’s contaminated water supply, and authorities are still searching for the source of the contamination that prompted a boil water order likely to last through Wednesday.

Affected water customers can help too: At 8 p.m. tonight, people should use plenty of water on long showers, car washes, and clothes washing.

“To flush the system in your house, basically,” said West Palm Beach spokesman Chase Scott.

The boil water alert Friday was for its 125,000 utilities customers who live in the city of West Palm Beach, as well as in the town of Palm Beach and the town of South Palm Beach on the barrier island. But residents across Palm Beach County who weren’t sure of the target area jammed city phone lines.

Water samples from the town of Palm Beach came back negative for contamination, but the boil water order remains in effect, Scott said today.

An elusive source of human or animal waste is to blame, said Assistant City Administrator Ken Rearden. Water from 13 sites tested positive for fecal coliform, total coliform and E. coli bacteria, which could be coming from sewage or bird droppings, Steve Schmidt, laboratory manager for West Palm Beach Public Utilities, said at a news conference Saturday at the water plant on Banyan Boulevard.

Iran Irreversible?
IBD ^ | October 1, 2007

Nuclear Terrorism: A statement by Tehran’s top nuclear official suggests the terrorist state’s uranium enrichment program is past the point of no return. Could even a full shutdown reverse Iran’s ability to devise a bomb?

The Iraqi-born Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council and one of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s representatives to the council, stated that the United Nations’ demand that uranium enrichment be halted is futile.

“From a technical point of view, we have reached a stage that no one can take away what we’ve achieved,” Larijani told London’s Financial Times on Sunday. “I’m surprised to hear suspension is still being talked about.”

The same day Larijani delivered his ominous statement, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton, in some of his most candid language ever, told delegates of Britain’s Conservative Party that a military strike and regime change should now be under consideration.

“I don’t think the use of military force is an attractive option,” Bolton said, “but I would tell you I don’t know what the alternative is.”

The $100,000 Stray Cat
By ViAnn Meyer
One orphan kitty with golden eyes - it’s hard to believe all he has inspired.

I’ve always loved cats. But until nine years ago, my pet cats suffered a high mortality rate. I decided that my next cat was going to live indoors only. Besides, I love wild birds, and this way I could be sure my cat wouldn’t hunt birds or little woodland creatures.

Discover true joy in treasuring life’s precious moments

But then came Oliver. My sister works at a veterinarian’s office. One day she called up and pleaded with me to come see a six-month-old kitten that had been abandoned there. They were having trouble finding him a home. The other staff found him ordinary. They only kept him because he was a willing blood donor. It broke my sister’s heart to see the little kitten offer his paw for the needle and then purr while his blood was being withdrawn.

I went to the office and within thirty seconds had fallen in love. The kitten had short but soft black fur with a white undercoat, a round, pudgy face and luminous golden eyes. He was dignified but affectionate. I instantly thought of the name Oliver, after the Charles Dickens orphan. Home we went - together.

Red October: Russia, Iran and Iraq
By George Friedman

The course of the war in Iraq appears to be set for the next year. Of the four options we laid out a few weeks ago, the Bush administration essentially has selected a course between the first and second options — maintaining the current mission and force level or retaining the mission but gradually reducing the force. The mission — creating a stable, pro-American government in Baghdad that can assume the role of ensuring security — remains intact. The strategy is to use the maximum available force to provide security until the Iraqis can assume the burden. The force will be reduced by the 30,000 troops who were surged into Iraq, though because that level of force will be unavailable by spring, the reduction is not really a matter of choice. The remaining force is the maximum available, and it will be reduced as circumstances permit.

Top U.S. commander in Iraq Gen. David Petraeus and others have made two broad arguments. First, while prior strategy indeed failed to make progress, a new strategy that combines aggressive security operations with recruiting political leaders on the subnational level — the Sunni sheikhs in Anbar province, for example — has had a positive impact, and could achieve the mission, given more time. Therefore, having spent treasure and blood to this point, it would be foolish for the United States not to pursue it for another year or two.

The second argument addresses the consequence of withdrawal. U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice summed it up in an interview with NBC News. “And I would note that President [Mahmoud] Ahmadinejad said if the United States leaves Iraq, Iran is prepared to fill the vacuum. That is what is at stake here,” she said. We had suggested that the best way to contain Iran would be to cede Iraq and defend the Arabian Peninsula. One reason is that it would release troops for operations elsewhere in the world, if needed. The administration has chosen to try to keep Iraq — any part of it — out of Iranian hands. If successful, this obviously benefits the United States. If it fails, the United States can always choose a different option.

Within the region, this seems a reasonable choice, assuming the political foundations in Washington can be maintained, foundations that so far appear to be holding. The Achilles’ heel of the strategy is the fact that it includes the window of vulnerability that we discussed a few weeks ago. The strategy and mission outlined by Petraeus commits virtually all U.S. ground forces to Iraq, with Afghanistan and South Korea soaking up the rest. It leaves air and naval power available, but it does not allow the United States to deal with any other crisis that involves the significant threat of ground intervention. This has consequences.

Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki attended a meeting of the Iranian-Russian Joint Economic Commission in Moscow over the weekend. While in the Russian capital, Mottaki also met with Russian Atomic Energy Chief Sergei Kiriyenko to discuss Russian assistance in completing the Bushehr nuclear power plant. After the meeting, Mottaki said Russian officials had assured him of their commitment to complete the power plant. Iran’s top nuclear negotiator, Ali Larijani, said, “With regards to the Bushehr power plant, we have reached good understanding with the Russians. In this understanding a timetable for providing nuclear fuel on time and inaugurating this power plant has been fixed.” While the truth of Russian assurances is questionable — Moscow has been mere weeks away from making Bushehr operational for the better part of the last three years, and is about as excited about a nuclear-armed Iran as is Washington — the fact remains that Russian-Iranian cooperation continues to be substantial, and public.

Mottaki also confirmed — and this is significant — that Russian President Vladimir Putin would visit Tehran on Oct. 16. The occasion is a meeting of the Caspian Sea littoral nations, a group that comprises Russia, Iran, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. According to the Iranians, Putin agreed not only to attend the conference, but also to use the visit to confer with top Iranian leaders.

This is about the last thing the United States wanted the Russians to do — and therefore the first thing the Russians did. The Russians are quite pleased with the current situation in Iraq and Iran and do not want anything to upset it. From the Russian point of view, the Americans are tied down in an extended conflict that sucks up resources and strategic bandwidth in Washington. There is a similarity here with Vietnam. The more tied down U.S. forces were in Vietnam, the more opportunities the Soviets had. Nowadays, Russia’s resources are much diminished compared with those of the Soviets — while Russia has a much smaller range of interest. Moscow’s primary goal is to regain a sphere of influence within the former Soviet Union. Whatever ambitions it may dream of, this is the starting point. The Russians see the Americans as trying to thwart their ambitions throughout their periphery, through support for anti-Russian elements via U.S. intelligence.

If the United States plans to stay in Iraq until the end of the Bush presidency, then the United States badly needs something from the Russians — that they not provide arms, particularly air-defense systems, to the Syrians and especially the Iranians. The Americans need the Russians not to provide fighter aircraft, modern command-and-control systems or any of the other war-making systems that the Russians have been developing. Above all else, they want the Russians not to provide the Iranians any nuclear-linked technology.

Therefore, it is no accident that the Iranians claimed over the weekend that the Russians told them they would do precisely that. Obviously, the discussion was of a purely civilian nature, but the United States is aware that the Russians have advanced military nuclear technology and that the distinction between civilian and military is subtle. In short, Russia has signaled the Americans that it could very easily trigger their worst nightmare.

The Iranians, fairly isolated in the world, are being warned even by the French that war is a real possibility. Obviously, then, they view the meetings with the Russians as being of enormous value. The Russians have no interest in seeing Iran devastated by the United States. They want Iran to do just what it is doing — tying down U.S. forces in Iraq and providing a strategic quagmire for the Americans. And they are aware that they have technologies that would make an extended air campaign against Iran much more costly than it would be otherwise. Indeed, without a U.S. ground force capable of exploiting an air attack anyway, the Russians might be able to create a situation in which suppression of enemy air defenses (SEAD, the first stage of a U.S. air campaign) would be costly, and in which the second phase — battle against infrastructure — could become a war of attrition. The United States might win, in the sense of ultimately having command of the air, but it could not force a regime change — and it would pay a high price.

It also should not be forgotten that the Russians have the second-largest nuclear arsenal in the world. The Russians very ostentatiously announced a few weeks ago that their Bear bombers were returning to constant patrol. This amused some in the U.S. military, who correctly regard the Bear as obsolete. They forget that the Russians never really had a bomber force designed for massive intercontinental delivery of nuclear devices. The announcement was a gesture — and reminder that Russian ICBMs could easily be pointed at the United States.

Russia obviously doesn’t plan a nuclear exchange with the United States, although it likes forcing the Americans to consider the possibility. Nor do the Russians want the Iranians to gain nuclear weapons. What they do want is an extended conflict in Iraq, extended tension between Iran and the United States, and they wouldn’t much mind if the United States went to war with Iran as well. The Russians would happily supply the Iranians with whatever weapons systems they could use in order to bleed the United States a bit more, as long as they are reasonably confident that those systems would not be pointed north any time soon.

The Russians are just as prepared to let the United States have a free hand against Iran and not pose any challenges while U.S. forces are tied down in Iraq. But there is a price and it will be high. The Russians are aware that the window of opportunity is now and that they could create nightmarish problems for the United States. Therefore, the Russians will want the following:

In the Caucasus, they want the United States to withdraw support for Georgia and force the Georgian government to reach an accommodation with Moscow. Given Armenian hostility to Turkey and closeness to Russia, this would allow the Russians to reclaim a sphere of influence in the Caucasus, leaving Azerbaijan as a buffer with Iran.

In Ukraine and Belarus, the Russians will expect an end to all U.S. support to nongovernmental organizations agitating for a pro-Western course.

In the Baltics, the Russians will expect the United States to curb anti-Russian sentiment and to explicitly limit the Baltics’ role in NATO, excluding the presence of foreign troops, particularly Polish.

Regarding Serbia, they want an end to any discussion of an independent Kosovo.

The Russians also will want plans abandoned for an anti-ballistic-missile system that deploys missiles in Poland.

In other words, the Russians will want the United States to get out of the former Soviet Union — and stay out. Alternatively, the Russians are prepared, on Oct. 16, to reach agreements on nuclear exchange and weapons transfers that will include weapons that the Iranians can easily send into Iraq to kill U.S. troops. Should the United States initiate an air campaign prior to any of this taking effect, the Russians will increase the supply of weapons to Iran dramatically, using means it used effectively in Vietnam: shipping them in. If the United States strikes against Russian ships, the Russians will then be free to strike directly against Georgia or the Baltic states, countries that cannot defend themselves without American support, and countries that the United States is in no position to support.

It is increasingly clear that Putin intends to reverse in practice, if not formally, the consequences of the fall of the Soviet Union. He does not expect at this point to move back into Central Europe or engage in a global competition with the United States. He knows that is impossible. But he also understands three things: First, his armed forces have improved dramatically since 2000. Second, the countries he is dealing with are no match for his forces as long as the United States stays out. Third, staying out or not really is not a choice for the United States. As long as it maintains this posture in Iraq, it is out.

This is Putin’s moment and he can exploit it in one of two ways: He can reach a quiet accommodation with the Americans, and leave the Iranians hanging. Conversely, he can align with the Iranians and place the United States in a far more complex situation than it otherwise would be in. He could achieve this by supporting Syria, arming militias in Lebanon or even causing significant problems in Afghanistan, where Russia retains a degree of influence in the North.

The Russians are chess players and geopoliticians. In chess and geopolitics, the game is routine and then, suddenly, there is an opening. You seize the opening because you might never get another one. The United States is inherently more powerful than Russia, save at this particular moment. Because of a series of choices the United States has made, it is weaker in the places that matter to Russia. Russia will not be in this position in two or three years. It needs to act now.

Therefore, Putin will go to Iran on Oct. 16 and will work to complete Iran’s civilian nuclear project. What agreements he might reach with Iran could given the United States nightmares. If the United States takes out Iran’s nuclear weapons, the Russians will sympathize and arm the Iranians even more intensely. If the Americans launch an extended air campaign, the Russians will happily increase the supply of weapons even more. Talk about carpet-bombing Iran is silly. It is a big country and the United States doesn’t have that much carpet. The supplies would get through.

Or the United States can quietly give Putin the sphere of influence he wants, letting down allies in the former Soviet Union, in return for which the Russians will let the Iranians stand alone against the Americans, not give arms to Middle Eastern countries, not ship Iran weapons that will wind up with militias in Iraq. In effect, Putin is giving the United States a month to let him know what it has in mind.

It should not be forgotten that Iran retains an option that could upset Russian plans. Iran has no great trust of Russia, nor does it have a desire to be trapped between American power and Russian willingness to hold Iran’s coat while it slugs things out with the Americans. At a certain point, sooner rather than later, the Iranians must examine whether they want to play the role of the Russian cape to the American bull. The option for the Iranians remains the same — negotiate the future of Iraq with the Americans. If the United States is committed to remaining in Iraq, Iran can choose to undermine Washington, at the cost of increasing its own dependence on the Russians and the possibility of war with the Americans. Or it can choose to cut a deal with the Americans that gives it influence in Iraq without domination. Iran is delighted with Putin’s visit. But that visit also gives it negotiating leverage with the Americans. This remains the wild card.

Petraeus’ area of operations is Iraq. He may well have crafted a viable plan for stabilizing Iraq over the next few years. But the price to be paid for that is not in Iraq or even in Iran. It is in leaving the door wide open in other areas of the world. We believe the Russians are about to walk through one of those doors. The question in the White House, therefore, must be: How much is Iraq worth? Is it worth recreating the geopolitical foundations of the Soviet Union?

[Note this is the end of the article]

Accidents aren’t the only concern. While medical experts consider it unlikely that a lab employee will become sick and infect others, these labs have strict rules to prevent anyone from stealing organisms or toxins and using them for bioterrorism.

The reports were so sensitive the Bush administration refused to release them under the Freedom of Information Act, citing an anti-bioterrorism law aimed at preventing terrorists from locating stockpiles of poisons and learning who handles them.

Among the previously undisclosed accidents:

_In Rockville, Md., ferret No. 992, inoculated with bird flu virus, bit a technician at Bioqual Inc. on the right thumb in July. The worker was placed on home quarantine for five days and directed to wear a mask to protect others.

_An Oklahoma State University lab in Stillwater in December could not account for a dead mouse inoculated with bacteria that causes joint pain, weakness, lymph node swelling and pneumonia. The rodent — one of 30 to be incinerated — was never found, but the lab said an employee “must have forgotten to remove the dead mouse from the cage” before the cage was sterilized.

_In Albuquerque, N.M., an employee at the Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute was bitten on the left hand by an infected monkey in September 2006. The animal was ill from an infection of bacteria that causes plague. “When the gloves were removed, the skin appeared to be broken in 2 or 3 places,” the report said. The worker was referred to a doctor, but nothing more was disclosed.

_In Fort Collins, Colo., a worker at a federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention facility found, in January 2004, three broken vials of Russian spring-summer encephalitis virus. Wearing only a laboratory coat and gloves, he used tweezers to remove broken glass and moved the materials to a special container. The virus, a potential bio-warfare agent, could cause brain inflammation and is supposed to be handled in a lab requiring pressure suits that resemble space suits. The report did not say whether the worker became ill.

Other reports describe leaks of contaminated waste, dropped containers with cultures of bacteria and viruses, and defective seals on airtight containers. Some recount missing or lost shipments, including plague bacteria that was supposed to be delivered to the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in 2003. The wayward shipment was discovered eventually in Belgium and incinerated safely.

The reports must be submitted to regulators whenever a lab suffers a theft, loss or release of any of 72 substances known as “select agents” — a government list of germs and toxins that represent the horror stories of the world’s worst medical tragedies for humans and animals.

A senior CDC official, Dr. Richard Besser, said his agency is committed to ensuring that U.S. labs are safe and that all such incidents are disclosed to the government. He said he was unaware of any risk to the public resulting from infections among workers at the high-security labs, but he acknowledged that regulators are worried about accidents that could go unreported.

“If you’re asking if it’s possible for someone to not report an infection, and have it missed, that clearly is a concern that we have,” Besser said.

Texas A&M’s laboratory failed to report, until this year, one case of a lab worker’s infection from Brucella bacteria last year and three others’ previous infection with Q fever — missteps documented in news reports earlier this year. The illnesses are characterized by high fevers and flu-like symptoms that sometimes cause more serious complications.

“The major problems at Texas A&M went undetected and unreported, and we don’t think that it was an isolated event,” critic Edward Hammond said. He runs the Sunshine Project, which has tracked incidents at other labs for years and first revealed the Texas A&M illnesses that the school failed to report.

Rules for working in the labs are tough and are getting more restrictive as the bio-safety levels rise. The highest is Level 4, where labs study substances that pose a “high risk of life-threatening disease for which no vaccine or therapy is available.” Besides wearing wear full-body, air-supplied suits, workers undergo extensive background checks and carry special identification cards.

“The risk that a killer agent could be set loose in the general population is real,” Hammond said.

In other lab accidents recounted in the reports, the Public Health Research Institute in Newark, N.J., was investigated by the FBI in 2005 when it couldn’t account for three of 24 mice infected with plague bacteria. The lab and the CDC concluded the mice were cannibalized by other plague-infested mice or buried under bedding when the cage was sterilized with high temperatures.

The lab’s director, Dr. David Perlin, told the AP it would be impossible for mice to escape from the building and said a worker failed to record their deaths.

“I feel 99 percent comfortable that was the case,” Perlin said. “The animals become badly cannibalized. You only see bits and pieces. They’re in cages with shredded newspaper. You really have to search hard with gloves and masks.”

A worker at the Army’s biological facility in Fort Detrick, Md., was grazed by a needle in February 2004 and exposed to the deadly Ebola virus after a mouse kicked a syringe. She was placed in an isolation ward called “The Slammer,” but the Army said she did not become ill.

In other previously undisclosed accidents:

In Decatur, Ga., a worker at the Georgia Public Health Laboratory handled a Brucella culture in April 2004 without high-level precautions. She became feverish months later and tested positive for exposure at a hospital emergency room in July. She eventually returned to work. The lab’s confidential report defended her: “The technologist is a good laboratorian and has good technique.”

In April this year at the Loveless facility in Albuquerque, an African green monkey infected intentionally with plague-causing bacteria reached with its free hand and scratched at a Velcro restraining strap, cutting into the gloved hand of a lab worker. The injured worker at the Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute received medical treatment, including an antibiotic.

The National Animal Disease Center in Ames, Iowa, reported leaks of contaminated waste three times in November and December 2006. While one worker was preparing a pipe for repairs, he cut his middle finger, possibly exposing him to Brucella, according to the confidential reports.

A researcher at the CDC’s lab in Fort Collins, Colo., dropped two containers on the floor last November, including one with plague bacteria.

A worker at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research-Naval Medical Research Center in Silver Spring, Md., sliced through two pair of gloves while handling a rat carcass infected with plague bacteria. The May 2005 report said she was sent to an emergency room, which released her and asked her to return for a follow-up visit.

Jet skids off runway in Sugar Land; no injuries

No one was hurt after a twin engine jet skidded off the runway at Sugar
Land
Regional Airport Sunday afternoon, but federal investigators are
looking
into why the mishap occurred.

Sugar Land police spokesman Doug Adolph said the Federal Aviation
Administration will investigate the incident, which happened shortly
before
2:30 p.m.

Six people, including the pilot, were on board the Westwind 24 plane
when
the pilot lost control and the plane landed partially on the runway and

partially on the grass, Adolph said. The airport had to be closed for
several hours.

Adolph said Monday morning he was trying to determine where the plane
was
headed.

Roland Herwig, FAA communications spokesman from Oklahoma City, said it
was
too early to comment.

of Lower Austria, which encircles most of Vienna. Police said they made

the arrest a short distance from the embassy building in a neighborhood

where security is tight. IED experts were still examining the contents
of the backpack. “There were a lot of nails in that bag. Had it
exploded, it would have had an enormous shrapnel effect,” said a
spokesperson of Austria’s federal counterterrorism office. It was
unclear how far he made it into the embassy. Public broadcaster ORF
reported that a bomb sniffer sounded an alarm as the man was passing
through security checks and that he fled immediately when private
security guards tried to take him down.. Interrogating the suspect
seems
to be difficult, since he seems to speak only broken German, sources
tell that the suspect is about to be marked as mentaly disabled, he
carried a paper noticing an appointment with a shrink. “I repeatedly
invited the embassy to my home. Since they didn’t came, I came to see
them,” he said during interrogation. Last night a second suspect in the

city of Tulln/Austria was detained. The first suspect stated that the
second one gave him the order to deliver the explosive parcel at the US

embassy, but security authorities said that he is only abused as a
scapegoat and is just an acquaintance by chance. It was only last
Saturday when Austrian security officials stated in connection with the

GIMF detainees, that there is no concrete terror threat in Austria
[Well, ya technically the embassy is not Austrian soil;]. - And finally

a nice comment from ... someone ... “I can guarantee you, if this story

is accurate, the RSO is having some Austrian ass for breakfast.” :-)...

TUBERCULOSIS - UGANDA: DEADLY STRAIN, REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
****************************************
A ProMED-mail post
http://www.promedmail.org
ProMED-mail is a program of the
International Society for Infectious Diseases
http://www.isid.org

Date: Mon 1 Oct 2007
Source: AllAfrica New Vision (Kampala) report, [edited]
http://allafrica.com/stories/printable/200710010036.html

A deadly strain of tuberculosis (TB) is on the increase in Uganda,
the Uganda National Association of Nurses and Midwives has warned.
Janet Obuni, the association’s president, on Saturday [29 Sep 2007]
said each carrier of the drug-resistant disease [with active
pulmonary tuberculosis] was capable of infecting about 20 people in a
lifetime. “Without strict precautions, a bigger number of people will
be infected because this type of TB is dangerous as most of the
infected people stay with their families. The congestion in urban
area and other places may also add to the infection risks.”

A medical staff at Mulago Hospital revealed that they had recorded 71
cases of the deadly TB strain. “So far, there is no clear medication
for the patients. The strain threatens to cause a global pandemic,
but in Uganda its magnitude is not yet established. “Other cases were
reported in Arua, Mbarara, Kabale, Mbale, and Soroti districts, Obuni
said. Addressing journalists in Entebbe, Obuni appealed to the
Government to intervene, [and reported that] 10 members of the
association from different districts returned from Kenya’s capital,
Nairobi, where they were trained in methods of tackling the serious
disease. “Although we have received some training in the management
of multi-resistant TB from an international body, we still need the
Government to avail us drugs in order to check the disease before it
runs out of hand,” Obuni said.

[Byline: Gladys Kalibbala]

Communicated by:

sidi_couly@yahoo.ca

[The news release does not specify the exact identity of the strain,
although presumably it refers to an extremely drug-resistant (XDR)
strain. XDR tuberculosis has caused high mortality among HIV
co-infected patients in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. As mentioned in
previous ProMED-mail postings, XDR tuberculosis has now spread
throughout South Africa and probably into neighboring countries that
share borders and migrant work forces with South Africa. Uganda,
however, is separated by several countries from South Africa (see map
at http://www.uyaphi.com/search/map/africa

Genotyping analysis of XDR strains from KwaZulu-Natal revealed that
85 percent of the 46 isolates tested belonged to the KwaZulu-Natal
family of tuberculosis strains, which had been recognized in the
province for a decade
http://content.nejm.org/cgi/content/full/356/7/656 Whether cases
of XDR tuberculosis that occur outside of KwaZulu-Natal have this
genotype is not known. Further information on the ‘deadly’ strain in
Uganda would be appreciated. - Mod.ML]

Four Species Arrive Just in Time for Sukkot in Iraq
Sep 26, 2007

Army Pfc. Gavin Ellman, expecting a delivery of a lulav and etrog just before Sukkot, found herself Tuesday without a set of the biblically-mandated Four Species waved at specific points during the holiday’s prayer services. From Forward Operating Base Kalsu in Iraq, Ellman then quickly e-mailed Capt. Shlomo Shulman, a chaplain stationed at Camp Striker in Baghdad, to see if he could rush a delivery by helicopter.

Lucky for the servicewoman, Shulman had an extra set, delivered earlier by the Chabad-Lubavitch Aleph Institute.

Shulman, who as the only Jewish chaplain in Iraq spends much of his time assisting Jewish soldiers across the country, found a helicopter destined to Kalsu Tuesday night and put the Aleph package on it.

Based in Bal Harbor, Fla., The Aleph Institute provides soldiers with Jewish educational materials and assistance with holiday celebrations. This year, the organization sent a Four Species set – a lulav, or palm tree branch; myrtle twigs; willow branches; and an etrog – to every base that had Jewish soldiers. It also distributed easy-to-use pop-up sukkahs to those who requested them.

Bhutto says she might allow U.S. strike on bin Laden

Bhutto says she might allow U.S. strike on bin Laden

Mon 1 Oct 2007, 17:43 GMT

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto
said
on Monday that she might allow a U.S. military strike inside Pakistan
to
eliminate al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden if she were the country’s
leader.

“I would hope that I would be able to take Osama bin Laden myself
without
depending on the Americans. But if I couldn’t do it, of course we are
fighting this war together and (I) would seek their cooperation in
eliminating him,” Bhutto said in an interview on BBC World News
America.

Bhutto, who has vowed to return to Pakistan on October 18 after eight
years
of exile, was speaking less than a week before an October 6 election
that
President Pervez Musharraf is expected to win despite his slumping
popularity.

She has been in talks with Musharraf about a post-election
power-sharing
deal that would shore up his position, which has become more precarious
amid
violent clashes with Islamist militants.

U.S. intelligence officials believe bin Laden and other al Qaeda
leaders are
being protected by tribal leaders in an area of northwestern Pakistan
near
the Afghanistan border that is largely inaccessible even to Pakistani
forces.

Bush administration officials fear that unilateral U.S. action against
the
al Qaeda safe haven could destabilize Pakistan and jeopardize the
government
of Musharraf, a key U.S. ally in Washington’s struggle against
militants.

Asked by the BBC whether she would agree to let the Americans take
action
against bin Laden in Pakistan, Bhutto said her decision would depend on
the
strength of the evidence.

“I think one really needs to see the information. So I would really,
really
need to see the evidence,” she said, according to a transcript of the
BBC
interview.

“But if there was evidence, my first reference would be to go in myself
and
if ... there was a difficulty on that I’d like to cooperate with the
Americans.”

Bhutto has remained in exile rather than face corruption charges at
home. On
Monday, one of her lawyers filed an application for bail in case
authorities
arrest her when she returns.

Subject: Fw: Fw: SHERIFF JOE IS AT IT AGAIN!

SHERIFF JOE IS AT IT AGAIN!

Oh, there’s MUCH more to know about Sheriff Joe!

Maricopa County was spending approx. $18 million dollars a year on stray animals, like cats and dogs. Sheriff Joe offered to take the department over, and the County Supervisors said okay.
The animal shelters are now all staffed and operated by prisoners. They feed and care for the strays. Every animal in his care is taken out and walked twice daily. He now has prisoners who are experts in animal nutrition and behavior. They give great classes for anyone who’d like to adopt an animal. He has literally taken stray dogs off the street, given them to the care of prisoners, and had them place in dog shows.
The best part? His budget for the entire department is now under $3 million.
Teresa and I adopted a Weimaraner from a Maricopa County shelter two years ago. He was neutered, and current on all shots, in great health, and even had a microchip inserted the day we got him. Cost us $78.
The prisoners get the benefit of about $0.28 an hour for working, but most would work for free, just to be out of their cells for the day. Most of his budget is for utilities, building maintenance, etc. He pays the prisoners out of the fees collected for adopted animals.
I have long wondered when the rest of the country would take a look at the way he runs the jail system, and copy some of his ideas. He has a huge farm, donated to the county years ago, where inmates can work, and they grow most of their own fresh vegetables and food, doing all the work and harvesting by hand. He has a pretty good sized hog farm, which provides meat, and fertilizer. It fertilizes the Christmas tree nursery, where prisoners work, and you can buy a living Christmas tree for $6 - $8 for the Holidays, and plant it later. We have six trees in our yard from the Prison.
Yup, he was reelected last year with 83% of the vote.
Now he’s in trouble with the ACLU again. He painted all his buses and vehicles with a mural, that has a special hotline phone number painted on it, where you can call and report suspected illegal aliens. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement wasn’t doing enough in his eyes, so he had 40 deputies trained specifically for enforcing immigration laws, started up his hotline, and bought 4 new buses just for hauling folks back to the border. He’s kind of a “Git-R Dun” kind of Sheriff .

Update on Joe Arpaio

TO THOSE OF YOU NOT FAMILIAR WITH JOE ARPAIO

HE IS THE MARICOPA ARIZONA COUNTY SHERIFF

AND HE KEEPS GETTING ELECTED OVER AND OVER
THIS IS ONE OF THE REASONS WHY:
Sheriff Joe Arpaio
(In Arizona)
who created the
“Tent City Jail”:
He has jail meals down to 40 cents a serving and charges the inmates for them.

He stopped smoking and porno magazines in the jails. Took away their weights Cut off all but “G” movies.

He started chain gangs so the inmates could do free work on county and city projects.

Then He Started
Chain Gangs For Women
So He Wouldn’t Get
Sued For
Discrimination.

He took away cable TV Until he found out there was A Federal Court Order
that Required Cable TV For Jails
So He Hooked Up The Cable TV Again Only Let In The Disney Channel And The Weather Channel.

When asked why the weather channel
He Replied,
So They Will Know
How Hot It’s Gonna Be
While They Are Working
ON My Chain Gangs.

He Cut Off Coffee
Since It Has
Zero Nutritional Value.

When the inmates complained, he told them, “This Isn’t The Ritz/Carlton.....If You Don’t Like It,
Don’t Come Back.”

He bought Newt Gingrich’s lecture series on videotape that he pipes into the jails.

When asked by a reporter if he had any lecture series by a Democrat, he replied that a democratic lecture series might explain why a lot of the inmates were in his jails in the first place.

More On The Arizona Sheriff:

With Temperatures Being Even Hotter
Than Usual In Phoenix
(116 Degrees Just Set A New Record),
the Associated Press Reports:
About 2,000 Inmates Living In A Barbed-Wire-Surrounded Tent Encampment
At The
Maricopa County Jail Have Been Given Permission To Strip Down To Their Government-Issued
Pink Boxer Shorts.

On Wednesday, hundreds of men wearing boxers were either curled up on their bunk beds or chatted in the tents, which reached
138 Degrees
Inside The Week Before.

Many Were Also Swathed In Wet, Pink Towels As Sweat Collected On Their Chests And Dripped Down To Their PINK SOCKS.

“It Feels Like We Are In A Furnace,”
Said James Zanzot,
An Inmate Who Has Lived In The TENTS for 1 year.
“It’s Inhumane.”

Joe Arpaio,
the tough-guy sheriff
who created the tent city and long ago started making his prisoners wear pink, and eat bologna sandwiches, is not one bit sympathetic
He said Wednesday that he told all of the inmates: “It’s 120 Degrees In Iraq And
Our Soldiers Are Living In Tents Too,
And They Have To
Wear Full Battle Gear,
But
They Didn’t Commit Any Crimes,
So Shut Your Damned Mouths!”

Way To Go, Sheriff!
Maybe if all prisons were like this one
there would be a lot less crime and/or repeat offenders.
Criminals should be punished for their crimes - not live in luxury until it’s time for their parole, only to go out and commit another crime so they can get back in to live on taxpayers money and enjoy things taxpayers can’t afford to have for themselves.

Sheriff Joe
was just reelected Sheriff in Maricopa County, Arizona.

[several interesting articles on this blog, ohotos]

http://lionheartuk.blogspot.com/2007/10/part-3-who-are-international-solidarity.html

01 October 2007
Part 3 – What is the International Solidarity Movement?

Part 1 - “The International Solidarity Movement unmasked”
Part 2 - “ISM & The Price of 21st Century Anarchy”
Part 3 – What is the ‘International Solidarity Movement’?

Before travelling to the Holy Land in the summer of 2006 I had absolutely no idea at all who the International Solidarity Movement were, I had never heard of them or heard anything about them before in my life, which is the same as 99% of the population in that respect.

So what is the International Solidarity Movement then?

I was on my own travelling in the Holy Land when I was approached by an American guy who I presumed was a tourist like myself, little did I know until I was taken into the Faisal Youth hostel in East Jerusalem and introduced to a group of Western Anarchists that I had never met before, that I had been led right into the Lion’s den which is the International Solidarity Movements headquarters in Israel.

As soon as I realised that these people knew each other and they explained what their intentions where in Israel, I knew ‘immediately’ that I had found myself in the middle of an extremist hatemongering group of Western Anarchists who were in Israel to fight the Islamic Palestinian cause against the innocent Jewish population of the Country. There were plenty of willing Western recruits in the hostel while I was there who were all spewing their hatred towards Israel and its Jewish population

Not even 24 hours later I was in Jericho ‘The West Bank’ with my new friends, having my picture taken with Al Aksa terrorists holding their AK47 machine guns.

If you were in my shoes and had found yourself in the middle of this group listening to their hatred against Jewish people and the State of Israel and then not even 24 hours later they are taking you for a guided tour of the West Bank where you meet Palestinian terrorists and get to play with their machine guns, what would you personally think of the International Solidarity Movement considering you knew absolutely nothing about them before the last 16 – 18 hours you had just spent with them?

They weren’t sight seeing tourists like me that’s for sure!

After spending my first day in the East Jerusalem part of the Holy land with the International Solidarity Movement, I then got on with the rest of my journey visiting the Historic Biblical sites around the Old City and then travelling to a few of the historical Knights Templar sites around the country.

Because I am a Christian and stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Israel I knew that the photos that I had obtained after my brief stint with the ISM were important to the State of Israel so I offered them to people to help have this army of Western anarchists and extremists removed from the Holy land for the sake of the innocent people whose lives they put in danger by placing themselves in the firing line in one of the most volatile places on Earth.

I then started to learn more about this group, who they were and some of the terrorist supporting activities they had been involved with which gave me more of an insight and understanding of the group and my personal experience with them.

It then all started to add up for me, giving me a clear picture of a very serious group of International guerrilla soldiers who descend on Israel from around the World to be trained and used by Palestinian handlers in social and civil disobedience against legitimate Israeli security measures in Israel, and then to disburse around the World to attack Israeli and Western targets for their Islamic leaders under the guise of extreme Left Wing political dissent – Useful idiots in other words.

If you side with terrorists then you yourself are a terrorist and are a threat to the innocent people of the civilized world, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to come up with that conclusion based on the facts.

The International Solidarity Movement and its affiliated groups have got to be ‘the most dangerous group’ out their in their field of expertise – Islamic terrorist supporters – they are not only a serious and dangerous threat to the people of Israel because of their willingness to fight the Islamic Palestinian cause within Israeli territory, the leaders of this group descend on College and University campuses within Europe and America, seeking their recruits to the cause by plying young supple minds with their warped extreme ideas, and then recruiting them to the cause of International extremism against Israel and Jewish people.

Why this group and its affiliated off-shoots have not been banned yet shows serious failings on our Western government’s duty to protect our young students within our institutes of higher learning. Instead this group has an unhindered reign upon College and University campuses to descend upon them spewing their hate filled propaganda and then recruit impressionable young students to their warped Islamic terrorist supporting agenda.

How would you personally feel about this group being allowed into your son or daughters educational institution, to talk them into joining their international guerrilla army of Western extremists, considering the amount of money you pay for them to be in a safe and secure place to study, away from this type of extreme anarchy that should be illegal?

Well it is happening now as you are reading this with many colleges and universities giving this group and its off-shoot groups the platform to preach their hatred as they seek to influence people’s opinions and recruit more useful idiots to their warped cause.

Whilst I was in the West Bank having my photo taken with terrorists there was a couple of young ladies already in the field causing civil disobedience against the Israeli authorities and it turned out that these two young ladies Magan Wiles and Jennifer Presson had been recruited to the International army of the ISM by one of their professors a Mr. Mark Chmiel whose college class in St Louis University they had been attending.

So in America you even have College professors recruiting young impressionable students to the army of the ISM’s extreme anarchy. If that is not an imprison able offence considering this professors duty of care to his students then it should be, and if I was the parents paying for the college fees of these students then I would take out a lawsuit for damages against the university for allowing the grooming and recruiting of my children to this dangerous, deadly conflict upon campus within his class.

You only have to look at what happened to Rachel Corrie after she was recruited to this extreme anarchy from the likes of this professor and the leaders of the ISM to know that these people should not be allowed to radicalize and recruit upon campuses for the safety of students – Yet they are allowed?

Rachel Corrie was an impressionable young American student who had been brainwashed into the International Solidarity Movements cause, joining the ranks of the International army to fight against Israel in the West Bank and Gaza. Sadly for her and her family she decided to put her life on the line protecting a gun smuggling tunnel and ended up being run over by a bull dozer for her stupidity. This is what happens when you place yourself in the firing line of a dangerous conflict and is the reason why the ISM and its affiliated groups should be outlawed from our society for the safety and security of everyone, not least the people of Israel who are on the receiving end of this extreme anarchy.

There have been several other high profile cases of ISM guerrilla soldiers being harmed for their stupidity, you have the case of Tom Hurndall the British ISM guerrilla soldier who was in the wrong place at the wrong time and was shot in the head, and then you have the case of Brian Avery who was shot in the face, but luckily survived with only facial disfigurement.

If you join the ranks of the International army of ISM activist then this is the type of thing that will happen to you when you start messing about with the internal affairs of another country, you are classed as ‘guerrilla soldiers’ in international law.

Do you want to be a guerrilla soldier in Israel, fighting Israel on behalf of the Islamic Palestinians?

Not only are the International Solidarity Movement putting young lives at risk for their Islamic leaders War against Israel, they actively support Moslem terrorists in the West Bank and Gaza.

The first ever British born Moslem suicidal psychopaths to have blown themselves up for Allah were Omar Khan Sharif and Asif Mohammed Hanif, these two misfits from the streets of Great Britain travelled into Gaza from Egypt under the guise of International Solidarity Movement activists. They attended Rachel Corries funeral in Gaza and then caught a lift into Tel Aviv with another ISM member and then went on their mission. One of these was successful and blew himself up in Mikes place and the other ones device never went off and he was found laying face down in a river a day or so later.

The International Solidarity Movement sticks to the story that they knew nothing about these two Pakistani Moslem murderers’ intentions within Israel. Those useful Western idiots who deny knowing anything about it probably did know nothing about it but the Islamic Palestinian handlers of all ISM activist who run the extreme anarchy operation and training within the West Bank and Gaza would have known exactly what was going on and specifically used the cover of the ISM to get these bombers into the country to carry out their mission for their Moslem brothers in Palestine.

There was also another high profile case where an Islamic Palestinian bombing mastermind was captured hiding out in the International Solidarity Movements headquarters in the West bank, again the ISM denied all knowledge and involvement of the case.

Then there was the Islamic Palestinians armed siege of the Church of the Nativity in the West Bank. A large group of armed Palestinian gunmen had stormed the church and held the Nuns and Priest hostage for many days without food and water. The ISM could not miss the opportunity of such a high profile event so several guerrilla soldiers including Huwaida Arraf one of the founders of the group stormed through the barricade live on TV to show their support for the gunmen inside.

There are many, many more incidents of Islamic Palestinian terrorists activities and their war against Israel and the West connected to the International Solidarity Movement, yet they always deny any involvement even though openly saying they work with the likes of Hamas, and our governments accept the lie and continue funding them and allowing them to continue their extreme anarchy against Israel, being used as a weapon for the Palestinian War, putting young impressionable Western students in harms way in foreign lands.

How much more proof do the authorities need before they close this group down including all of its off shoot organisations, preventing this cancer from spreading upon College and Universities campuses in the West and putting young people in danger.

I spent less than 18 hours with these people and I ended up in the West Bank with terrorists and guns, you can only imagine what goes on out of sight and out of mind once these extreme anarchists are trained and sent out to cause civil disobedience in the West Bank against Israel and its innocent Jewish population.

The International Solidarity Movement are heavily funded by Saudi Arabia which we all know is the number one financier of the global Jihad against Israel and the West, and the European Union are funding it too, so our tax money is funding the ISM’s war against Israel on behalf of the Islamic World and endangering the security of our institutes of Higher learning.

Is it not about time the governments of Europe, America and Israel decided to outlaw the ISM to halt this Islamic War front against the civilized world?

Bomb Britons ‘visited Gaza’

Two Britons accused of a Tel Aviv suicide bombing were allegedly seen visiting a Gaza apartment belonging to a pro-Palestinian group five days before the attack.

Raphael Cohen, an activist for the International Solidarity Movement (ISM), which carries out what it call ‘non-violent direct action’ against Israeli occupation of Gaza and the West Bank, said he spoke to the pair on 25 April for about 15 minutes.

He said they told him they were not attached to any particular organisation.

Last week’s blast at a bar called Mike’s Place claimed the lives of three people and injured 55.

The Israeli security services said the attack was carried out by Asif Muhammad Hanif, 21, from Hounslow, west London, and Omar Khan Sharif, 27, from Derby.

Mr Hanif died in the explosion, while Mr Sharif is being hunted by Israeli police, who say he fled the seafront bar after the bomb he was carrying failed to go off.

Flower tribute

The attack is thought to be the first by foreign sympathisers since the start of the current uprising in 2000.

Israeli police had said they thought the two men arrived from Gaza a short time before the attack.

Mr Cohen confirmed he met the men, who were given a cup of tea at the ISM office.

He told the BBC’s Nick Thorpe in Tel Aviv: “I did meet them, I did say ‘Who are you? What organisation do you belong to?
Related stories

“They said they did not belong to any organisation, but I did not form any impression of them.”

After a 15 minute chat, the three men joined a group of 20 people to lay flowers at a nearby site where an activist was killed, before they went their separate ways.

Despite increasing pressure from Israel, the ISM has pledged to continue its work, which it describes as non-violent resistance to the Israeli occupation of Palestinian land.

ISM organises demonstrations against Israeli army demolitions of targeted Palestinian homes.

On 16 March ISM activist Rachel Corrie, a 23-year-old American, was killed by an Israeli bulldozer.

Another ISM volunteer, Briton Tom Hurndall, 22, is still in a coma in an Israeli hospital after being hit by gunfire.

The army’s chief of staff has said the movement will be expelled for getting in the way of his soldiers.

In the UK, anti-terrorist police are continuing to question six people in connection with the attack in Tel Aviv.

The British investigation involves MI5, MI6, Scotland Yard’s anti-terrorism branch, local police forces and international agencies.

Chancellor Gordon Brown has ordered the freezing of all UK accounts owned by Mr Sharif and Mr Hanif.

“Look” those that care - 21st Century British child sex slaves

As an English man to have read what the Pakistani Moslem men are doing to poor innocent British children in their pursuit to degrade our people, subjugate us and take our women and children as War booty in their Jihad (Holy War) against us makes me sick to the core and to think that it is the mothers that have had to come forward because the men of the area have allowed this to continue to their neighbors children because the problem is not knocking on their front door - Shameful

To think that as you are reading this there are organised Pakistani Moslem networks in the North of England where Moslem men are targeting, raping and then pimping out our children for other Moslem men to rape and ply with drugs!

The Human trafficking sex industry in our children is alive and well in England...

The Police who are paid to protect us and our children in society should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this to continue, there should be a public inquiry into this, with those Police officers who failed to act removed from their jobs because what good are they in their jobs if they are not doing their job? And these networks involved in child sex trafficking that is highly illegal and un conducive to our civilized society should be broken up and removed from our land for the safety, security and protection of the innocent children living in the areas that this barbaric and savage third world conduct is occurring.

“I was told by one police officer that he did not ‘want to start a race riot’ by arresting Pakistani men for sexual offences,” Maureen said. During the six months that Jo was in the clutches of these men, they raped, beat and abused her to the point where, says her mother, she did not even know who she was any more. Eventually, after she was attacked by Hussain and Naveed with an iron bar, Jo somehow found the courage to report them to police, and they were arrested. The case took 16 months to come to court. In the meantime, other pimps, undeterred by the impending trial, continued to go about their business.

So what are the police doing? Lancashire police say that in the past few months they have sent letters to 70 men who were believed to be spending an unusual amount of time with young girls. The letters warn the men that the girls are underage; the men are required to sign the letter, confirming they have received and read it.

The British police force in the area where this young child Jo was being systematically raped and abused by Pakistani Moslem men, stated that he did not want to arrest Pakistani Moslem men for their pedophilic sex trafficking offences because of his fears of a backlash from the Islamic Kingdom. So us poor innocent British citizens whose country this is have to put up with this targeted savagery against our children under the guise of ‘community cohesion’ whilst those modern sex slave masters are given an unhindered reign to abuse and exploit our innocent and vulnerable children - Where are the human rights of the children the police are employed to be protecting?

The police sent letters to Pakistani Moslem men who were spending an unusual amount of time with children, “come on” whoever thought of that idea should be sacked for their incompetence. Do you really think these men would have taken any notice of a piece of paper, it is a complete joke that left vulnerable children at risk, these men probably could not even speak English, they come across to our country, abuse our hospitality, degrade our society and the government and police do nothing about it through fear of being racist towards these alien Islamic guests - Get with the programme

You tell me who the racist ones are here and who are the ones getting away with murder?

Sack the officer in charge of this failure to protect society and uphold British law of which he/she is employed by the good honest decent hardworking tax paying British citizen, everyone of them reading this would agree with me and they are the ones paying his/her salary.

These are well organised Pakistani Moslem gangs who are connected in this trade because of the money they earn through it and because of the degradation and subjugation they are enforcing upon our ‘infidel’ society through it.

Taxi drivers, shop owners and security guards who work in the shopping arcades where the girls are recruited are also involved, one police officer (who asked not to be named) told me.

Do you seriously think that you would ever have organised British gangs working as security guards, shop owners and taxi drivers all working together within a shopping centre to target children for sexual exploitation? Ludicrous to think such a thing, yet there are known Pakistani Moslem gangs in our country doing this - Why are they still living in our country?

“Police seem to be very cautious about this. They fear being branded racist,” says Mohammed Shafiq, the press spokesman for the Ramadhan Foundation, a Muslim youth education charity based in Rochdale. Shafiq recently tried to address some imams and community leaders, but did not get very far. “They all had a ‘no comment’ policy,” says Shafiq, “but our organisation is clear that it is going on, and that it is linked to drug dealing. We can’t simply blame the BNP.”

If you read the article can you see any mention of the British National Party, yet this person has tried to say that the BNP are involved in this - Here’s some medicine for those still deluded with Labour’s lie’s.

The mass majority of the British National Party is made up of normal British citizens who have had enough of this type of behaviour aimed at them, their society and their country, if the police and government will not do anything about organised Pakistani Moslem gangs target ting and raping your children as this situation has shown then who is?

Who is going to stand up for your human rights in 21st Century Britain because the government and their personal army - The Police force - have shown time and time again by their actions that they aren’t going to.

At this moment in time the only people on the ground within Great Britain who are standing up for their communities are the people of the British National Party because this madness is happening to them personally, to their communities and to their country - There is only so much we can take and that ‘Grace’ bowl to all those people subduing and abusing the British people is now over flowing into the New bowl - The ‘Righteous Anger’ bowl, and it seems that is almost full too.

What happens next when the ‘Righteous Anger’ bowl is full?

You cannot tell me that you do not think and feel the same about ‘this’ which was once your safe and secure homeland, whether you are White, Black, Brown or Yellow, and if you do not feel this way about what is happening to my homeland then I question your loyalty to this Nation and its Ruling Power - The British Monarchy

‘Enough is Enough’ of this inner turmoil, abuse and murder brought about by the Loony left wing liberal politicians and their voters within the Islamic Kingdom.

Documentary Makers - Where are you?

Pakistani Moslem slave masters & English child sex slaves

I personally was ‘reviled’ to have read the in-depth article about the British children in the North of England being targeted by organised gangs of Pakistani Moslem men so that they can be trafficked as human sex slaves that is why I have written about it again.

This is children below the age of 16 duped into the clutches of these modern Pakistani Moslem slave masters in our British homeland and then systematically raped, drugged, abused and beaten by their new Moslem masters, then sold to their network of Pakistani Moslem contacts who want to abuse young white children.

Is it me that just cant get me head around this but there are shopping centres controlled by these organised Pakistani Moslem child sex gangs, where they are all playing their part within the organised criminal operation to target our innocent and vulnerable children so as to turn them into child sex slaves.

Pakistani Moslem security guards, shop owners, taxi drivers and runners, each playing their part in their capturing of our children so that they can be raped and sold on as dirty kaffir meat - War booty in the Jihad (Holy War)

The Police who knew about this and took no action, and 70 letters is no action its a cop out, should be ashamed and they should be sacked because they are as responsible as the evil perpetrators of this unimaginable horror by sitting back and allowing it to continue.

There was a major police inquiry into the death of the teenager Steven Lawrence because of the police failings, any death for any family is a sad loss and the family petitioned to get to the bottom of their sons death as any would. There must be a police inquiry into this despicable horrendous trade in our children for the sake of the families whose lives have been destroyed and because of the Polices inability and downright unwillingness to stop this organised criminal operation in the exploitation of our children, the most innocent and vulnerable in our society considering it is their job which they are employed to do.

If there is a failing and a weak link in the chain, is it not best to discover where that is so that the problem can be fixed rather than brushing it under the carpet and ignoring it until the next time there is a problem because of the weak link in the chain?

Those who did nothing know who you are and we the people who pay your wages want to know the truth so that this can be stopped so other families do not have to go through what the families who are already caught up in this have had to go through.

If it was not for the brave mothers who have stood up and defended their innocent children then the ‘powers that be’ who are employed to protect us within society would have just brushed this under the carpet as if it was not there.

Is that how you expect your 21st Century English police force to act?

For the police to have sent out 70 pieces of paper while children were being raped, kidnapped, drugged and beaten, to local Pakistani Moslem men who were hanging about with these children shows you the size of the problem, yet it was left to continue and is almost certainly still continuing now. These Pakistani Moslem men do not care about our society and its ways because they are Islamic and they are allowed to do this type of stuff to the ‘infidel’, they bring their barbery and savagery into Great Britain and we and our children have to put up with this warmongering attitude towards us under the banner ‘community cohesion’.

Where were these childrens human rights?

Discarded by those who should have been there to protect them!

Look at the case of Charlene Downes who was used in a similar manner in a child sex ring by Moslem men and then chopped up and sold as kebab meat: Charlene Downes

I have watched many documentaries recently about some of the issues facing our 21st Century society and this issue faced by the mothers and daughters in CROP has got to be one of the most important in many respects.

Where are the Dispatches documentary makers for Channel 4 to report on this for the general public to watch the mothers of this heinous crimes side of the story so that we can all be aware of what is happening in our midst.

I personally would be more than willing to go to the North of England and do what needs to be done for the mothers and children caught up in this Moslem savagery that needs to be eradicated and I know I am not alone in that respect - These are our children!

[I can’t really finish with this thread, it is getting to me, there are many angles that I will not be able to look at, has hidden urls....connected to my last post......granny]

http://tottenhamlad.blogspot.com/2006/10/remembering-charlene-downes.html

Charlene Downes aged 14 - missing 31st October 2003

Three years ago a young girl from Blackpool named Charlene Downes went missing.

Described as 5ft 1in tall, slim, with straight shoulder-length dark brown hair and blue eyes [1: BBC 2003 Nov 24th] she disappeared on the night of Friday the 31st of October 2003, last seen with friends on the town’s North Pier [2: BBC 2003 Nov 11th].

It was nearly two and a half years later that three men were arrested for the murder of Charlene [3: BBC 2006 Mar 7], although eventually only two men were charged: [4: BBC 2006 Mar 9th] [5: Daily Mirror 2006 Mar 10th] [6: Blackpool Today 2006 Mar 9th].

The three men were:
Iyad Albattikhi, 28, Jordanian, divorced, charged with murder.
Mohammed Raveshi, 49, Iranian, bachelor, property landlord, social services worker and foster father, charged with assisting in the disposal a body.
The third unamed man, 29, questioned over the murder was released on police bail [7: Bolton Evening News 2006 Mar 9th].

During the investigation into the disappearance of Charlene Downes police uncovered evidence of a child sex ring offering girls as young as 12 to paedophiles leading them to believe she, along with other children in Blackpool, may have been sold for sex and forced into prostitution [8: Sun 2004 Oct 30th].

The man charged with Charlene Downes’ murder, Iyad Albattikhi, was the owner of the ‘Funny Boyz’ takeaway restaurant which was searched for two days, along with his flat located behind it and a garage under it, by the police. The forensic teams looking for her body even went to the extent of drilling and digging up the basement of the restaurant[6: Blackpool Today 2006 Mar 9th] [9: Blackpool Today 2006 Mar 10th].

The takeaway was eventually closed with these words from the police:

“...Sgt Richard Hurt, of Blackpool Police’s Nightsafe team, said: “The committee was told the premises had an evil streak running through it and deemed it necessary to revoke the licence on the grounds of public safety, the prevention of harm to children, crime and disorder and health and safety...” [10: Blackpool Today 2006 Mar 24th]

During all of this Charlene Downes mother, Karen Downes, was distraught:

“...I want to know where the body of my daughter is ... how could anyone murder such a beautiful girl I can’t comprehend it ... we want to be able to say goodbye to our daughter properly ... I pray if she is dead they didn’t hurt her and that she didn’t suffer...” [11: Blackpool Today 2006 Mar 8th] [12: The Citizen 2006 Mar 9th]

The story so far of the fate of Charlene Downes is horrifying enough until we take into account an even more horrifying aspect to her disappearance that surfaced in rumours on the internet.

Based on an article in the Manchester Metro newspaper blogs started to publish the fact that her body may have been turned into burgers and kebabs and served up at the ‘Funny Boyz’ takeaway.

Blog posts such as Rotweiller Puppy’s Do You Want Human Flesh With That?, House of Dumb’s Sweeny On-His-Todd, Laban Tall’s Damn Foreigners ..., Bournemouth Nationalist’s Was Charlenes body turned into kebab meat, and Majority Rights’s Charlene Downes - a murder too far for the MSM.

A rumour is only a rumour, but when considering the possibility of it’s truth there are precedents of ethnic-immigrant behaviour to take into account such as this case from the Accrington Observer ‘Life for man [Muhammed Arshad] who murdered and chopped up mum-in-law’:

“...a killer who murdered his mother-in-law and chopped up the body with a cleaver was jailed for life today ... butcher Muhammed Arshad help run a take-away, and also had a job in a pie factory ... after dismembering the body, Arshad’s brother ... helped him move the parts to the take-away in Church Street ... forensic experts found that body parts had been stored on the first floor before being taken down to the kitchen...”

If the rumours about the fate of Charlene Downes are unfounded then her story is still sad tale of a young English girls life stolen away by ethnic-immigrants.

If the rumours are true then the trial of her murderer due to take place in February 2007 may give rise to one of the potentially biggest murder stories ever.

Or perhaps not if the national media are judged on their track record so far on reporting the story of Charlene Downes.

In the face of media indifference it is left to blogs such as those mentioned above to try to highlight Charlene Downes story and to lone voices in the comment sections of national media articles such as the Telegraph’s ‘There is no mainstream media’ (search article for Guessedworker).

The media indifference is all the more shameful in it’s hypocrisy when compared to the attention the media pay other tales of rape and murder as pointed out in the Majority Rights blog post ‘A rape & murder trail hits the BBC headlines’.

Charlene Downes, a delicate young English rose of a child, snatched from life by the debased bestial urges of perverted ethnic-immigrants such as Iyad Albattikhi.

Her full story is yet to be told.

Moslem Monsters

First published February 07

UPDATE 25/05/07 - Court Case in progress - read it here: Daily Mail

I wrote an article about Halal meat being sacraficially butchered to the devil titled: British Fast-Food sacrificed to the devil.

I then read an article on Drakes drum’s blog about a young 14 year old girl being forced into a child sex ring, murdered, then butchered by two Moslem men and chopped up and sold as kebab and curry meat through their fast food outlet.

This is a horrendous evil perpertrated by two Moslem men who have destroyed a family, murdered a young girl then sold her flesh to an unsuspecting non-Muslim population. Moslem’s are ‘Barbaric Savages’ as this situation shows and the British people need to be shown the truth about these people living amongst us.

Not only did they kill this young girl they were sexually abusing her with other men in the community. She was part of a child sex ring with some girls as young as 12 being abused by these two Moslem men and their friends. This type of situation is happening all across Britain where ever there is a large Moslem encampment.

Street drugs is their weapon of choice to enslave these the most vulnerable children in Our Christian society.

The non-Moslem population need to know about this modern time horror on British streets. We heard about Fred & Rose West, We heard about the Yorkshire Ripper, why have we not heard about this modern time Sweeny Todd horror story? (thankfully the main stream media are reporting on this now)

Moslem’s have such a low regard for human life and they have infected Our food chain. God only knows what their community is getting up to in Our country.

Let’s hope that this horror story is publicised for the good of the British people and the infection into Our food chain exposed.

Let’s pray that God shines His light on this situation and reveals the truth for the sake of the dead girl’s family and the British people who eat in Moslem outlets up and down the country everyday.

Check this link for a picture of the dead girl and some links.

The British people who know about this story wait in anticipation for the truth to be made know.

‘Killer joked that he put schoolgirl lover in his kebabs’
By JAYA NARAIN

A fast-food shop owner who murdered a schoolgirl joked that she had been “chopped up” and put into kebabs, a court heard yesterday.

Iyad Albattikhi had been having sex with 14-year-old Charlene Downes, the jury was told.

She was one of a number of white girls who went into alleyways behind restaurants in Blackpool to have sex with the men who worked in the takeaways.

Albattikhi, 29, who owns the resort’s Funny Boyz fast food shop, is accused of murdering Charlene, who went missing three and a half years ago. Her body has never been found.

Prosecutor Tim Holroyde, QC, told Preston Crown Court that witnesses heard Albattikhi and others talking about Charlene.

He said: “These people were talking about sex with white girls and there was mention of having sex with Charlene.

“Albattikhi laughed and said she was kinky and she was very small - the plainest possible indication that he was lying to the police when he said he did not know her.

“He and others present were then laughingly saying that Charlene had gone into the kebabs.”

Charlene, who had been expelled from school, spent her time hanging around shops on Blackpool promenade, the court heard.

She kissed her mother goodbye on a Saturday evening in November 2003 and never came home, the jury heard.

Police launched a murder investigation after receiving information that a girl had been “killed and chopped up”, said Mr Holroyde.

Albattikhi, a Jordanian immigrant, ran the takeaway with his landlord, Mohammed Reveshi, who is originally from Iran.

Reveshi, 50, is charged with helping Albattikhi dispose of Charlene’s body. Both men deny the charges and have told police they never knew the girl.

The teenager had become familiar around the takeaways and would sometimes get free food, said Mr Holroyde.

He said: “In addition, she was one of a number of adolescent white girls who sometimes went at night to the alleyway behind the restaurants.

“She and others went there to meet much older men from the restaurants, and it seems perfectly clear that there was at times some sexual activity.”

Mr Holroyde added: “Of course, it goes without saying that sexual activity between these adult men and a 14-year-old girl would be a crime which could be expected to have serious consequences for them, so they would have every reason to want to prevent the police ever getting to learn of it.”

Police spoke to Albattikhi and Reveshi after Charlene disappeared but they insisted they did not know her, the jury was told.

Mr Holroyde claimed they lied about knowing Charlene because “one of them murdered her and the other has disposed of the body”.

Detectives later bugged the men’s flats and Reveshi’s car. Mr Holroyde said parts of these tape recordings were “revealing”.

The trial continues.

‘Hologram Tam’ forgery gang sent down
Press Association
2 October 2007, 2:28pm

Thomas McAnea was regarded as the mastermind of the counterfeiting operation which had the potential to net his gang millions of pounds.

Thomas McAnea aka Hologram Tam MASTER FORGER: Thomas ‘Hologram Tam’ McAnea is facing 10 years in prison

From behind the doors of Print Link, a small printing shop near Glasgow’s Charing Cross, the gang created near flawless £20 and €50 notes.

The scam could have been worth millions of pounds every year. But the gang was arrested in January this year after a sting by the Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency.

When officers raided the premises, McAnea and his team were in the process of printing around £500,000 in crisp £20 notes. Another raid resulted in the recovery of 250,000 euro notes.

They had been caught red-handed, as the money was ready to come out the other end of the printing press.

McAnea, 57, dubbed ‘Hologram Tam’ for his forging skills, admitted at the High Court in Glasgow to delivering, selling or disposing of fake Bank of Scotland and euro notes.

Co-accused John McGregor, 49, pleaded guilty to making fake Bank of Scotland notes, while Joseph McKnight and Robert Fulton were convicted of helping distribute the counterfeit money. But it was not the first time McAnea had been arrested.

McAnea, who is renowned in the criminal underworld for his forging skills, was part of a plan which could have seenms of fake notes distributed in pubs and clubs frequented by football fans during the 1996 European Championships in England.

From a shop in Partick, McAnea’s gang could have produced £12m of fake Bank of England notes every day. But after a tip-off the ring was smashed, during Operation Wembley, and McAnea arrested.

In 1998 he was jailed for 10 years at the High Court in Glasgow. However, when the warrant for the Partick address was issued, the date of the Forgery and Counterfeiting Act which covered the offences the gang was suspected of was typed out as ‘1989’ instead of ‘1981’.

The mistake meant the warrant was invalid and McAnea, from Yoker in Glasgow, walked free. There was no error this time however and today McAnea and his five accomplices received sentences totalling 22 years.

McAnea was given the highest jail sentence of six years and four months.

Father-of-two lorry driver forces government U-turn on Al Gore film in schools

The Government has offered to re-write the guidance for schools showing pupils Al Gore’s climate-change documentary An Inconvenient Truth.

The move is a dramatic response to a High Court action brought by father-of-two Stewart Dimmock, a Kent school governor and a member of political group the New Party.

Mr Dimmock says the former US vice-president’s Oscar-winning film is unfit for schools because it is politically partisan and contains serious scientific inaccuracies, as well as “sentimental mush”.

His lawyers have accused the Government and New Labour ‘Thought Police’ of backing the film as a way of ‘brainwashing’ pupils on global warming.

John Day, of Malletts Solicitors, today described the offer to re-write the guidance as ‘a U-turn’, but said it did not go far enough.

He said ‘no amount of turgid guidance’ could change the fact that the film was unfit for consumption in the classroom.

High Court judge Mr Justice Burton, who conducted a three-day hearing, has yet to give a final decision on whether or not the film should be banned totally from the classroom.

But today the Department for Children, Schools and Families and its lawyers offered to make changes to the accompanying written guidance for teaching staff so it can be shown.

The surprise move was a result of concerns voiced by the judge during the hearing that Gore’s critically-acclaimed work contained statements about global warming for which there was currently insufficient scientific evidence.

The judge also queried whether the film might appear to promote partisan views, rather than provide information about climate change, and thus make showing it in schools - without further efforts to counterbalance it - a breach of the 1996 Education Act.

Mr Dimmock, a lorry driver from Dover with children aged 11 and 14, said at the outset of the hearing: “I wish my children to have the best education possible, free from bias and political spin, and Mr Gore’s film falls far short of the standard required.”

The case arises from a decision in February by the then education secretary Alan Johnson that DVDs of the film would be sent to all secondary schools in England, along with a multimedia CD produced by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) containing two short climate-change films and an animation about the carbon cycle.

The Climate Change Resource Pack has been sent to more than 3,500 schools and is aimed at key stage 3 pupils (11 to 14-year-olds).

Mr Johnson said at the launch that Gore’s film sent a ‘powerful message about the fragility of our planet’ and would stimulate children into discussing climate change and global warming.

But Paul Downes, appearing for Mr Dimmock, described the film in court as ‘irredeemable’.

He said it contained “just over half scientific material, 30% pure politics and about 20% sentimental mush - mush there to soften up the viewer for persuasion.”

In the scientific part, “the majority of the arguments advanced are false, or falsely exaggerated”.

The guidance notes accompanying it “go nowhere near correcting these flaws - indeed they don’t even set out to do that”, said Mr Downes.

He said of Mr Dimmock: “Lots of parents have written to him supporting his application. They do not want our children brainwashed in this way by the New Labour Thought Police.”

Mr Downes also criticised one of the short films in the pack, Champions’ Diaries, which was produced by Defra.

He said children were represented as fervent converts to the Government’s agenda - “religious language is used, such as ‘spread the word’ and ‘spread the news’. It’s all designed to spread the Government gospel.”

The Government’s counsel, Martin Chamberlain, said the original guidance notes distributed to schools with the DVD, warning against political indoctrination, would ensure that the documentary was presented in a balanced way.

Although teachers could present the film in any way they wished, they were under a duty to provide balance - for instance, by explaining to pupils that some of the views expressed in the documentary were political and asking “What do you think about it?”

Cover-up claims as Canadian doctors cleared over 3,000 deaths in 20-year dirty blood scandal

Campaigners and lawyers are outraged over the acquittal of three doctors, a US drugs company and a former Red Cross official in a tainted-blood scandal that infected thousands of Canadians with HIV or hepatitis and resulted in more than 3,000 deaths.

Ontario Superior Court Justice Mary Lou Benotto ruled on Monday that the defendants did not show conduct displaying “wanton and reckless disregard” in the use of the blood and that there was no marked departure from the standards of a reasonable person.

“The conduct examined in detail over one and a half years confirms reasonable and responsible and professional actions and responses during this difficult time,” she said.

“The allegations of criminal conduct on the part of these men and this corporation were not only unsupported by the evidence, they were disproved.

“The events here were tragic,” the judge said. “However, to assign blame where none exists is to compound the tragedy.”

But James Kreppner, a Toronto lawyer who contracted HIV and hepatitis C from the tainted blood, said he was astounded.

“It was clearly negligent behaviour and a company violated its statutory duty and to call that professional conduct, you just can’t justify that,” he said.

John Plater of the Canadian Hemophilia Society expressed bewilderment at the verdict.

“If you, on the one hand, have a study that says there’s a problem, and on the other hand have a study that says maybe there isn’t a problem, any reasonable person takes the product off the market.

“They didn’t. People were infected, and people died,” Plater said. “How that could be considered reasonable behavior is beyond us.”

The case involved blood products produced by New Jersey-based Armour Pharmaceutical Company in the 1980s and early 1990s that turned out to be infected.

Also charged were Dr Roger Perrault of the Canadian Red Cross; Dr John Furesz and Dr Donald Wark Boucher, former officials at the federal agency Health Canada, and Dr Michael Rodell, a former vice president of Armour.

Perrault pleaded not guilty to criminal negligence causing bodily harm for allegedly giving hemophilia patients an HIV-infected blood-clotting product.

The other doctors and the drug company also pleaded not guilty. Lawyers argued that prosecutors did not present enough evidence to prove its case.

Defense attorney Edward Greenspan called it a complete exoneration of his clients Perrault and Armour Pharmaceutical.

“We could not have hoped for a better result,” Greenspan said. “It was an enormous tragedy, but it does not mean somebody has to be held accountable. The people that made the decisions did nothing criminal.”

A second trial for Perrault is set to begin later this year in Hamilton, Ontario, where he will face more criminal charges stemming from allegations that the Red Cross and its senior officials failed to take adequate measures to screen blood donors.

Mina Shah, who lost her 24-year-old brother Karttik Shah to AIDS and hepatitis as a result of the tainted blood, said she could not accept the decision.

“She said it was OK and a great job was done. That doesn’t sit well,” Shah said of the judge’s decision. “There should have been some sort of punishment.”

The Canadian Red Cross pleaded guilty in 2005 to distributing blood tainted with HIV and hepatitis C and was fined $5,000 Canadian (£2,500).

The Red Cross apologized and dedicated $1.5 million Canadian (£750,000) to a scholarship fund and research project aimed at reducing medical errors.

Responsibility for Canada’s blood supply for all provinces except Quebec was later transferred from the Canadian Red Cross to Canadian Blood Services.

After a five-year investigation, police laid criminal charges in the case. Last year, the Canadian government announced a $1 billion Canadian (£500 million) medical compensation package for all those infected with hepatitis C from tainted blood - expanding a previous package that excluded thousands.
