I think that is Mark's point and his warning; which if heeded; might lend itself to a 'pollyannish' ending. He offers a few possibilities for a more positive outcome in his book; but given political climate; they appear most unlikely.
Meantime, the way things are going; it appears that it will be a long, silent implosion. . .and don't think there will be a 24 hour 'correction' as we experience in our stock market.
But hey; I like 'pollyanna' too. . .but we must do our share to wake up more to the unpleasant realities of radical Islam; and it's goals. . .and it's creeping/leaping successes around the world; and most critically; here at home.
