If many Muslims believe that they can eventually take over America, it’s because so many libs evidence their own brand of anti-Americanism. The fact is many libs hate the idea of the rugged-individual-make-it-without-government-assistance-free market-strong military America. They want to turn the U.S. into some kind of effete Scandinavian/socialist “paradise”. A lot of them dispute that accusation (and many don’t), but they’ll be lying. And if they get their way, it will not be too difficult for the Jihadists to eventually push them aside and take over. And the Jihadists will not be as accomodating and tolerant as conservative Republicans with the socialist-hedonist lifestyle.

For what it is worth, I think it is because they are so precious, the 2 children allowed by the population restrictionists. Mothers of bigger famiies couldn’t hover and cater as they do now.

Maybe I'm just a polyanna, but I feel sure that, when things go too far, there will be a moral or cultural upheaval which will settle this issue.

I think that is Mark's point and his warning; which if heeded; might lend itself to a 'pollyannish' ending. He offers a few possibilities for a more positive outcome in his book; but given political climate; they appear most unlikely.

Meantime, the way things are going; it appears that it will be a long, silent implosion. . .and don't think there will be a 24 hour 'correction' as we experience in our stock market.

But hey; I like 'pollyanna' too. . .but we must do our share to wake up more to the unpleasant realities of radical Islam; and it's goals. . .and it's creeping/leaping successes around the world; and most critically; here at home.

The political climate in the UK in 1937-38 was also submissive, but remember what happened the next year.

You are right, this comment sums us Europe! When I was in college, I could only dream about getting finished and getting a job in the “real world”. Here, college for many is a career and the “real world” is not a place many want to be.

Just some observations from one who lives here.

Yes. . .and the country was united; and there was Churchill to make it happen. And of course, the same resolve and that of Roosevelt, united America as well. But that was then. . .

In the years since then; the 'Left' has diligently been about divide and conquer here at home and altering the mindscape of America - political correctness, being it's best tool. Our united resolve post 9/11 lasted but a few weeks; and then the Left began their work. Believe it has been the Left's determination since WWII that America - as in a Capitalistic America; would never again be indisputably victorious in any war against a Marxist enemy. Vietnam was in fact, 'their' victory. And they want/need. . . Iraq, to be theirs as well. The Democrat Party of 'now; because of it's 'Leftist'/Marxist ownership; is not only invested in defeat of America i.e. Capitalism; but committed to it. They want to recreate America in their nanny/totalitarian, anti-capitalisic image.

Meantime, around the world, including America; appeasement of radical Islam is not just in the air. And as Mark Steyn, notes the truth by way of demographics; the 'hand that rocks the cradle, rules the world'. . .It goes beyond demographics, of course; and is why Hillary so desperately wants the 'village' to raise the children; and why Liberals et al; knowing the power of the 'hand' as in the right education for raising the next generation; are today, feeling empowered as they are beginning to see results of their determined patience.

Right now, the 'Left'/the Dems. . .and the enemy jihadists; are two hands clapping. Can only wonder, should it become 'one hand clapping'. . .whose it will be.
