Sure thing, DBrow, and carriages without horses will never run. Fifty years from now (if all goes well) the legatees of Wickramasinghe and Fred Hoyle will eat comets for lunch.

Check out Heart of the Comet by Gregory Benford and David Brin.

The people there did indeed eat the guts of a comet for lunch, with rather odd results.
