Michelle gets stronger all the time (Mrs Obama slams Hillary)
Chicago Sun Times ^ | August 21, 2007 | Jennifer Hunter

Michelle said she travels with her husband in part "to model what it means to have family values," adding "if you can't run your own house, you can't run the White House." She didn't elaborate, but it could be interpreted as a swipe at the Clintons.

Nah, they’ll kiss and make up when Hillary offers Obama the VP spot.

Why would Obama want the VP slot? That means 8 years in Clinton's shadow before he can run on his own.

It’s not like it’s not a target rich environment.

I think Obama knows deep down he’s not ready yet. Actually if he doesn’t get the nomination, his best move would be running for Governor of Illinois, since traditionally Governors have a better track record at winning POTUS.

Now, WHICH one of that couple is running for President again? Is it Michelle, or Barack? Just what we need... ANOTHER unelected harpy.

“if you can’t run your own house, you can’t run the White House.”

Ouch! Ya better put some ice on that!

Am I the only one who sees this as a preemptive strike at Giuliani?

What is with these women? Since when did the wives campaign for their husbands like a bunch of harpies? They just go to show that the power behind the man is just as, if not more, backstabbing and corrupt as their power hungry husbands. Dhimmies, sigh.....

Clinton reaffirmed her opposition to gay marriage, citing her own personal experience as her rationale. “Marriage isn’t so great,” she opined. “You make promises then some bum is diddling interns behind your back. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.”

Clinton did admit that legal provisions barring spouses from testifying against one another might come in handy, but that such circumstances were rare and should not induce people to embark upon “the gut-wrenching, heartbreaking matrimonial ‘trail of tears’ unless you absolutely have to.” She told the largely homosexual audience that they should “appreciate the absence of social pressures to get married and enjoy the unfettered freedom offered by relationships that are not legally binding.”

Illinois state politics is more a ticket to the slammer lately than to higher office, so I think Obama will stay in the Senate and figure he can buck the odds from there. He's senator-for-life if he wants it. Regardless, I don't see any circumstances where he joins Clinton as Veep. There just isn't anything in it for him and it's a worse path to the presidency than the Senate is.

“But as the campaign has moved along, her speeches have become stronger, funnier and more personable. She speaks with more emotion than her husband; you feel she is the power propelling him, that she has the psychological mettle, the tough skin, the searing ambition.”

Oh no. Here we go again. Another potential First Lady smart enough to be president number. Obama 2016, Michelle 2024.

Why would Obama want the VP slot?

Because the biggest knock against him is that he is a lightweight and has no experience in an executive position. He would be better positioned in 8 years.

I am really trying to figure out who the Dems are going to run. They really have no good (electable) choices. Hillary! - Obama! seems like a natural ticket.

Hillary runs as a centrist while Obama protects her left flank.

Barring Bloomberg entering the race, I can't see how they get over 40% of the vote.

Yea, this will work about as good as, "If his wife can't trust him, why should we...?"

Noooo...it’s because the “guys” who are running cannot go after the “girl”....so they are letting their wives do it....Hillary would cry foul if some guy made some of the comments Michelle and Edward’s wife have made.

I like the article. I would consider it more than a sisterhood mash note. This is definitely the year of the running “mate.” I am getting a kick out of the wife playing “bad cop” though this is looking like a strictly dem phenomenon so far. However, it does look like the old “you can’t hit a girl” taboo will be broken in the dust by the time this campaign is over.

"Michelle said she travels with her husband in part "to model what it means to have family values," adding "if you can't run your own house, you can't run the White House." She didn't elaborate, but it could be interpreted as a swipe at the Clintons."

However when she was asked off the record who she was referring to she said: "That Arkansas trailer park cracker bitch that thinks she can be President!"

I still think that in their heart of hearts, most of Obama’s fans still believe that he is merely jockeying to become Hilary’s toilet seat warmer and may abandon him if and when they finally decide he really is running against her.

Drudge p0layed this speech Sun night, and he loved its passion. I personally deplore populist emotion and look for substance.

Not to toot my own horn but I said this years ago in a slightly different form:

If Hillary can’t keep tabs on a household of three persons how will she handle a cabinet, the WH and/or the country?
