Trouble is, it now has a political-religious following. It will take a generation to get rid of this one, and by God’s grace, we may hope not to replace it with yet another “global cooling/coming ice age” scare.

It will take a generation to get rid of this one...

Try this. When somebody starts spewing AGM nonsense, just point, laugh and say "You've been listening to that nutjob Owl Gore again, haven't you? Try looking at the data yourself and you won't make such a fool of yourself in public" Blank stares usually result because most people who believe this tripe read or listen to the headlines and go no farther. It's easy to bury them and Owl Gore's arguments in the truth. It's exactly why Gore won't debate ANYONE on the subject.

1998 was the peak of the current warming cycle. Mean temperatures have been falling ever since. I predict that in less than 5 years the very same people who today are instilling fear of "Global Warming", will be hyping "Global Cooling"

Nitrogen Overload is in the wings, a much easier position to defend; nothing good ever came from messing with Mother Nature.
