CNN will premiere a six-hour television event across its U.S. and international networks in August on the impact of the rise of religious fundamentalism as a powerful political force in three faiths: Judaism, Islam and Christianity. CNN chief international correspondent Christiane Amanpour traveled the world to report CNN Presents: Gods Warriors. The U.S.premiere airs Tuesday, Aug. 21, through Thursday, Aug. 23, from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. each night (ET/PT).
Gods Warriors is an investigation of religion, at a time when religious activism is a signature cultural phenomenon of our times, said Mark Nelson, vice president and senior executive producer for CNN Productions. This projects global scope is ideally suited for the skills of someone with as impressive of a journalistic pedigree as our own Christiane Amanpour.
For this documentary, Amanpour reports that during the last 30 years, each faith has exploded into a powerful political force, comprised of followers Gods warriors who share a deep dissatisfaction with modern society, and a fierce determination to place God and religion back into daily life and to the seats of power. Their political and cultural struggles to save the world from what they view as secular materialism, greed and sexual corruption have caused anger, division and fear.
There are millions of people around the world who feel that their faith is being ignored pushed aside and they are certain they know how to make the world right, Amanpour says. We cannot and should not ignore them. And, with this report, weve tried to explain them.

Google “Peter Singer” for a glimpse into the human secularist’s mind.
This CNN series doesn’t just rip Christians, the Jews are featured on tomorrow night’s episode. Not good.
I quit doing that. Same reason I quit listening to NPR, watching network sitcoms, going to most movies, watching to actors do anything but act, listening to singers do anything but sing, etc. It just raises the blood pressure. I think we’ve all figured out the left by now so why bother when others will read it for us and tell us if something changes?
Amanpour is on Larry King right now. She calls it “the rise of religion” Judaism, Islam and Christianity. She says it’s moving out of the personal into the public and “the war to bring their religion into the seat of power” (direct quote) including political power.
She says these religions want to change the culture and are intent on grabbing political power.
Amanpour talks about the Jewish/Palestinian problem and Bush war in Iraq, both of which, is fueling terrorist recruits.
So, there’s the agenda. This is code for, religion is to be feared now as “they” (Jews, Muslims and Christians), are trying to grab power, including political power. The MSM doesn’t like people of faith having political power, apparently. I can’t wait for the transcript of this interview, lol.
They are now showing a clip of the interview with Jerry Falwell, where he is saying that America deserved 911 because God had removed His protection of America because of abortion. Hit job...
Larry King just asked if religion is a “failure”. Amanpour just said most wars in the world right now are about religion.
Oh boy, this is so blatent, lol.
Ping to Alouette.
Nothing new there either. It just leaves me speechless.
Sure would be interesting to have her explain away the atheistic regimes that devastated their countries in this last century.
The joys of atheism: Stalin, Lenin, Pol Pot, China,.....
They’re so much better. Riiiight.
Exactly. Communism killed more human beings just in the 20th century than all the other wars in history combined.
Larry King just asked this Christian minister if Fundamentalist Christians were dangerous, one reason being they’re “hawks”. I’m not watching this anymore, take care.
Tell Alouette to watch tomorrow night’s CNN show on Judaism. The clip they showed is not good.
OK, I lied, lol.
As usual, it’s all about abortion, changing the law and SCOTUS - Amanpour just admitted it on Larry King (or at least it is for Christiane).
Bleeping clueless.
God’s Warriors-I thought this would be about the U.S. military-but then I heard it was on CNN.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE (through translator): We wanted to protest the demolition, but nobody intended to harm anyone.
AMANPOUR: No one was killed, but there were more than 200 casualties, soldiers and settlers. All this over nine houses on a tiny plot of land.
My son, who is an IDF veteran, was at the Amona disengagement, had his head smashed, beaten up, and HE was charged with "assaulting an officer."
He was sentenced to "community service" which he performed, now there is a movement for Olmert to grant complete amnesty to all the disengagement protestors like he gave amnesty to convicted terrorists, so my son wants to be paid for all those hours of community service he did.
Warning! This is a high-volume ping list.
Except for the "enlightened" west of the past two to three centuries, religion has always been public. A purely private, personal, subjective religion is a modern chimera.
These people really are historical morons.
How much of a journalist can Amanpour be when she calls Judea and Samaria "the occupied west bank".Amanpour has produced a "Michael Moore" documentary
