EXCERPT politicsnj By Wally Edge - August 20, 2007 -

Embattled Superior Court Judge Thomas Vena -- the guy who cut the bail of illegal alien Jose Carranza on the docket for 31 counts of raping a 5-year-old girl (and is now charged with murdering three Newark students shot execution-style) got tenure just two months ago, which means he can serve until 2022.

Vena, a Democrat and a career government lawyer with close ties to several key Democrat political leaders including New Jersey Senate President Richard Codey. Republican Governor Christine Todd Whitman appointed Vena to serve as a state Administrative Law Judge in 1998, and on October 23, 2000 as a Superior Court Judge.

Democrat Governor Jon Corzine reappointed Vena for a tenured term on May 24, 2007. Vena's renomination came seven days after Vena reduced Jose Lachira Carranza's bail from $300,000 to $150,000, allowing the alleged murder with a history of violent crime, to return to the streets.

Vena was on vacation that week, but according to published reports, stopped into the office to sign the bail reduction order.

Last week, Sen Codey---among the group of politicians that advocated Vena's appointments-----strongly criticized Vena's decision, and asked the state AG to investigate why Vena made a unilateral decision without input from the office of the Essex County Prosecutor.

The Prosecutor, Paula Dow, did not contact the Senate Judiciary Committee regarding Vena's actions during the three weeks that preceeded the Senate confirmation vote on Vena's tenured term.

=================================================

Margarita Rivera (assistant Essex County prosecutor mishandled Carranza’s 31 counts of child rape which set him free to kill)

Riveral, Vena, Dow and the rest are The Machine appointees---meaning they take orders from The Political Machine (or else).

Would be interesting to see Corzine, Codey, Dow, Rivera, and Vena's phone records and emails to see which of The Machine politicians sent orders to let rapist Carranza go free..........b/c it's beginning to look an awful lot like The Machine did not want Dow, Rivera, and Vena to screw up their latino voting bloc by jailing Carranza.

Gee whoda thought it in NJ. Just as long as they support gun control, more welfare, and higher taxes then anything they do is OK with the voters in NJ.

I wouldn't want to be unfair, but just for a reality check: Are female prosecutors generally soft on criminals and low on the conviction percentage?

Or are they just more likely to be appointed by Democrats, and therefore, tend to side with violent criminals?

Are there numbers on this?

The Illegals are taking over black areas by violence.

And I can't help but think that those in the Federal Government who favor turning a blind eye toward illegal immigration consider that trend one of the beneficial byproducts. Only they expected the "God-fearing, family-oriented Catholics" of popular mythology - not MS-13. ;)

Judge Vena (who said “so what“ when he heard Carranza did not have a SS#)

I agree... so what? Most reactionaries will complain when an immigrant (I do a lot of work for foreign students studying here... with proper visas) tries to obtain a SSN... and yet now they must be suspect when they don't get one? I don't understand the problem there. "How dare they come here and NOT try to get benefits!!" ??

The importance of the illegal immigration issue in the next presidential election was never clearer. It’s time the PTB protect citizens instead of illegal aliens.

Politicians sucking up to illegal aliens for votes are pandering idiots, offering citizenship and voting rights to criminals.

Only US citizens possess rights guaranteed by our Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Those who cross our borders illegally harm our quality of life. They are a threat to US citizens; they burden our schools, medical facilities, courts and prisons.

Outrageously they threaten to intimidate American citizens who may want to exercise our right to peacefully demonstrate and air grievances-—this must be considered a violation of US federal anti-bias laws.

In fact, violation of any US laws by any alien on our shores should constitute reason for deportation.

American citizens cannot freely exercise our rights guaranteed by our Founders because violent illegal gangs pose a threat.

How can L/E justify protecting foreign nationals who are participating in marches and protests, who are uttering hate messages against the US, who are threatening to undermine the US government, who are nothing but a bunch of hate-America terrorists?

Americans must elect candidates who see this issue through the prism of the red, white, and blue.

Candidates must bring back the US back from the brink of being a Third World banana republic-——and protect the integrity of our borders and our precious citizenship.

Illegals cannot be allowed to win this war.

Citizens need to wake up, boot out the traitors, and elect patriotic Americans.

Hell he still may want to pardon them

Even if he doesn't there are millions more where those came from.

Better find out the facts before you pontificate.

Not having a SS# is significant in a court of law-—especially for someone like Carranza with 31 counts of child rape against him. Judges want to know that b/c it means he has made no effort at being a permanent resident, and is a flight risk.

Keep in mind, we’re discussing the murders of three youngsters by illegal aliens who flouted the law at every turn, and were aided and abetted by L/R and the judicial system.

You are comparing apples with oranges——unless, of course, your students are all killers and rapists.

Every time something like this happens, it turns into an excuse for them to clamp down harder on Americans.

Yep. In the name of policitical correctness, we've allowed the islamic jihadists to control our behavior. Instead of destroying them, we capitulate, and that will only get more of us killed. I'm not exaggerating.

Not really. I was merely pointing out that the presence or absence of a SSN has little to do with anything significant... either for killers, rapists, proper H1B employees, or students.

But you do raise a good point about it being a good indicator of whether the person was trying to become a citizen. However, such an intent also has little to do with anything, civil or criminal. It is not illegal to stay here with proper visas with an intent to become a citizen, and it is not illegal to do so without such an intent. That fact might be used to refute prior testimony, but is otherwise of very little use. The judge, in making his "so what" statement, can only be accused (as the posting does) IF the issue was raised in that manner, AND the judge rejected the argument out-of-hand... hardly a new event in the courtroom.

Its already started in Lost Angles. On the weekend FR has quite few articles on the 'race wars'. The Illegals are taking over black areas by violence.

I always like to compare crime stats. Here it clearly indicates Chicago, Illinois has considerably more crime than Los Angeles, Ca. Actually, Chicago exceeds LA in 6 of the 7 major crime categories.

Chicago and Los Angeles Comparative Crime Ratios per 100,000 People
