Yes, I know. I was so upset, I didn't say what I really meant. Of we course will give aid and comfort...even for a glancing blow.

The stranded fishermen were on the tiny islands just South of Kingston.

About two hours ago the NOAA Nat'l Weather Service National Hurricane Center located Hurricane Dean 17.3 N 76.8 W at 5:00 p.m. EDT.

Hurricane Force Winds extend outward up to 60 miles (95 KM) from the center and Tropical Storm Force winds extend outward up to 205 miles (335 KM).

Estimated movement toward the West clocked in at near 20 mph. Maximum sustained winds were 145 mph. Minimum central pressure was 930 MB.

From the detailed map below showing the parishes and some small towns in Jamaica, and according to the NHS report, Jamaica has had hurricane force winds hitting up to 10 miles inland and tropical storm force winds further inland.

Hurricane force winds should pass West out of St. Catherine Parish within the next hour or two. According to reports from their Nationwide Radio Jamaica sounds to be hanging in there.
