You would think people in town would get the idea and "head for the hills".....just about any old holler, cave, bauxite quarry, or thicket would be preferable to trying to ride it out in a waterfront town with the dirty side coming right at you.
You can survive getting soaked or having a bad weekend. You can't hang around a disintegrating waterfront. Ask Galveston.

Despite pleas, many not evacuating
If there are a lot of casualties in Kingston, afterwards the media won’t be talking about smart evacuation practices or better building codes, they will probably go straight to global warming alarmism and how the US has caused all this by not adopting Kyoto. *sigh*
Bad situation evolving.
Eastern provinces are having the power grid shut down.
Western and Northern provinces still have power.
JPS will maintain power in these areas as long as possible.
However an -island wide power curtailment- is likely as the situation deteriorates.
