Generally, the Bermuda High. In this case, at long radius, so the current “arc” appears to be a striaght line. The further Dean travels, the more apparant the component of northward arc should become.
Cancun is NOT out of the woods.
Later on, neither is, well, anyone on the Gulf, from the Yucatan, Mexico, around Texas through Lousiana, and at the extreme end of the probability spectrum, even Ft. Myers.
The models show North American landfall anywhere from the yucatan through New Orleans.
Wait and watch is about all we can do.
Things are about to get crazy here.
I’m highly confident I’ve figured out the failure sequence of the I-35 bridge, the evidence I’ve uncovered and pieced together is very pursuasive. I have a lot of work to do to get it together well enough to post, Monday or Tuesday, and then will have to defend the conclusions and answer questions.
With that event over and done, and potential lives at risk with Dean, Dean will take precedence, but not while over water, well away from landfall.
