Very slim chance for this storm to cross Mexico and re-emerge as a viable storm system in the Pacific. The portion of Mexico’s land mass is very wide where Dean is headed, and there are two Sierra Madre mountain ranges (Oriental and Occidental). Tropical systems don’t fare well with land and mountains.

I would say there is no chance whatsoever that it makes it to the Pacific side.
