I will never forget a couple of calls we got over night. One, about 2 am from a neighbor that we should go out in the downpour to removed boards from our fences because the water was falling so hard that our yards were becoming swimming pools. The next one from my sister around 4 am saying that they were airlifting people off the roofs of their condos not a mile away from us.
We rode up and down parts of FM 518 in a friend's flat bottom boat just so we could try to get in to work in Clear Lake City.
Wow, sounds like Allison, too. Remember watching that big pretty house on the golf course (Green Tee) burn to the ground, surrounded by 5-6 feet of water or more, while the firemen were off in the distance on their firetruck, just helpless.
