OR, the other way around. The Vikings had this thing about slaves ~ they loved slaves ~ men slaves, baby slaves, women slaves ~ so they took a lot of them captive.

Sure, why not. They needed slaves, particularly those lucious red headed babes from Ireland.

In fact, all the Scandinavians are pretty much descended from the Irish and Welsh, and from the earlier Baltic peoples in the region.

In fact, the Vikings carried things to such an extreme that almost all the Scots are also descended from the Irish invaders AND the Scandinavian invaders.
