Especially since you and I are in hurricane mode...and will be as long as we live here...
..Good deals can be found...(according to the two RV places in town)...
..They know gas has gone up, and homes are not selling...
It's comforting to be in a self-contained place rolling along the highway to escape 'whatever' with everything packed in the 'basement', including extra water, etc.
If we get stuck or have to pull over, we have the bathroom, kitchen w/microwave/fridge/stove and a place to sit or lie down...
It's worth the investment.
Since I am in a mandatory evac zone on the water, I’ve lost some prepaid hotel reservations a few times over the years. It would seem so much easier to keep the hurricane gear in an RV, and toss the cats and their litter boxes in there when necessary. It’s so hard to find hotels that allow pets. As well, the extended family has taken to renting RVs for camping over the Thanksgiving holidays. We certainly have room on the property for an RV.
I've said many times, a basement around here would be a submarine.
