It's weird how I started hoping that the darned thing would veer off and impact somebody else. Made me feel bad about myself.

I know that feeling , and I always have a hard time with it.

I hate hurricane season!

I remember when, at the last possible moment, Hurricane Charley veered east, sparing Tampa Bay. I was so incredibly relieved, with twinges of guilt. Packed up every bit of my hurricane supplies (including my Freeplay radio, water, food, batteries), mops, brooms, buckets, and hauled them down to Arcadia.

I keep thinking of what Jesus told the rich man.

“Sell all your possessions and follow me...”

(Need to not be so attached to possessions, I know. But it’s hard when it’s your life’s investment. Still..)
