Hanson is a true treasure and very readable...I was facinated by Carnage and Culture and often use it as a reference...you missed another book that Hanson wrote about a subject very close to his heart; Fields Without Dreams which is about his growing up on his family's raisin farm in the central valley of CA. Excellent take on modern co-op agriculture.
