Behold, I Stand at the Door

Here in this world there’s a chance.
Opportunity comes each day,
To turn around our lives and live
In that exemplary way.

I’ve known about the doorway,
My parents knocked me too.
There isn’t any question that,
I know what I should do.

But here is what concerns me,
Let’s call it Heaven’s Key,
“The only way to the Kingdom,”
(His words!) “… is by me.”

So the crux of my dilemma,
Believe me, it’s a gem.
If I have blocked His way down here,
How can I get by Him?

As was pointed out years ago to me, that picture of Our Savior at the Door, has one thing missing - a door handle.

The door must be opened from the inside to invite Jesus in.

Praise the Lord, I opened that door as a young boy.
