How Much Longer Can America Survive an Ignorant Electorate?
NewsBull ^ | August 9, 2007 | JB Williams

Can any representative republic survive a progressively ignorant electorate? Can freedom be sustained in any society hell-bent upon taxing its productive members out of existence, for benefit of its non-productive? Can people unable to successfully govern their own lives be entrusted with the power to govern others?

Not to be unkind, but we need to face facts here. So long as a republic represents the will of the brave, it will remain the home of the free. When it’s run by the productive members of society, it will remain prosperous. When it’s governed by the independent minded, it will not be dependent upon anyone. When run by those with a healthy respect for individual rights, special interests will no longer need special consideration.

But when cowards, thieves and thugs run things, those who believe that some progressive form of socialism is better than individual freedom and personal achievement, freedom is diminished. When those seeking to rob the rich in the name of the poor while stuffing their own pockets and growing their own political power run things, then the republic represents cowardly thieves, not the people.

There are no longer enough literate, educated voters to sustain us with a true, informed educated vote...or, are there?

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Only a small minority is actually capable of carrying on a conversation about the government without sounding like idiots. Most have no actual knowledge of how the government is even supposed to work in the first place and not the faintest suspicion about what is and isn’t actually authorized by the constitution. Do I sound discouraged? I should!

How about this. Lets be optimistic. Theres some fantastic GOP candidates running. I think the upcoming GOP primaries will be the most important in our history. If we don’t nominate the right person, “then” we can start worrying. Its really up to the GOP voters. I think its a mistake, at this point, to look at those that are collecting the most money. That money won’t necessarily convert into votes. The candidate must be a pure conservative. Personally I like Duncan Hunter. And I believe he has a chance. Optimism! Chin up! Shoulders back! Hooo Rahhh! DD

“So strong and pervasive is envy, that you cannot have a political system that doesn’t accommodate or find some way to manage envy.

You might say that one party will generally represent the envied, the other the envious.

Guess which ones.”

All they know to do when a Bush fails is to vote for a Clinton. They just can’t figure out what is happening.

Hillary 2008

Jeb Bush 2016

Roger Clinton 2024

Jenna Bush 2032

Chelsea Clinton 2040

Though many may disagree, I’ve often thought that an IQ test should be a pre-requisite for voter registration.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Two kinds of people will disagree, those who have low IQ but want to vote anyway, and those who have high IQ but are living proof that IQ tests only measure a small part of what counts.
I think the founders had it right in the first place. Only male property owners who could demonstrate that they could read, write and understand the Constitution were allowed to vote.

I’ve realized that most people are stupid since about the age of six. It’s been most disappointing.

Hi there EV!!

Yes there is so much information. And not all of it is good. A good portion of it is meant to distract voters from what this author writes of. And sadly in many cases, it is working. If progressives are good at anything, it is distraction!

The answer is: First off the glory days of freedom and liberty envisioned by the founders are LOOOOOONNNGGG Gone, the scary thing is most of those freedoms were stripped in the past 45 years (just look at taxes for starters).

2 terms of Hillary and a dem congress and it’s over, we’re so close to socialism now that it isn’t even funny, we’re just a SUPER RICH socialist country as it stands.

2 terms of Hillary and the inmates will be running the asylum and it’s a slippery slope towards tyranny from there.

The right man can slay the Hildebeast and chart a new course that delays socialism by another 15-50 years. I believe that man is Fred Thompson, I really think Fred is the right man at the right time, destiny’s darling.

I didn’t mean for this to be a campaign post for Fred, I stand by everything I said before I mentioned Fred.
