Yes, hispanics are ALSO classified as “white” or “black”. They are not separately reported. Instead, white hispanic criminals are categorized as “white” in this data. That obscures their contribution to America’s murders.
Officially, “race” is different from “ethnicity”. Ethnicity refers to Hispanic or non-Hispanic. One can be Hispanic and either black, white, asian or other race. Makes statistical categorization a difficult task. In practice, there are very few non-white Hispanics so you can split “white” into “white non-Hispanic” and “white Hispanic”. I have no idea how this affects the crime stats; just chiming in on the official categories.
