Hmmm, I’m de-lurking to just point out that there are several synods of Lutherans; the ELCA is the most liberal, but there are many Lutherans who completely reject their stance (Missouri Synod, Wisconsin Synod, WELS, etc.) Its unfortunate that the bozos in the ELCA tend to make the news on issues like this, thus smearing all Lutherans in the process.

They make news because most Americans don’t know that there are different synods within churches. By the way, the media is satisfied not to make the public any wiser about those distinctions.

Duly noted. But why should the MSM care? They just throw it out there so that everyone thinks ALL LUTHERANS believe homo-sex is alright so that they can make Rosie O’Donnell, Margret Cho and the rest of the deviants more acceptable and feel better.

It's probably due to ELCA's stance (or lack of a stance) on things that the MSM gives them any ink at all. Whenever you read about Lutherans in the paper, it is almost always ELCA, even when the article is about a fund raiser or other innocuous subject.
