I think so....but God has his own plan for these morons, so I am placing all my faith in Him.
“I think so....but God has his own plan for these morons, so I am placing all my faith in Him.”
God helps those who help themselves.
I say we go beat ‘em like Bongos!
I do believe it is proper to ask the Lord to utterly hinder their activities, and one would be praying in the will of God. To specify any desired judgment upon them is actually to be guilty of Phelps’ own tactic, the mis-applied use of imprecatory prayer.
Whatever you could ask as a specific measure of judgment would be something no greater than all of us deserve under God’s wrath—the consequence of His inestimable Holiness. But for God sparing not His own Son and placing That righteous and sinless Son in the way of His judgment on sinners, all of us would receive His sorest unfathomable judgments. Christ took the wrath of God for sinners, and we live so long and well that we forget the Work of the Cross and wonder if we are correct to pray God’s judgments upon others.
I am afraid to pray judgments upon Phelps or upon any other man, as Christ had to suffer the wrath of God even for Phelps’ sins. But I have been praying for God to hinder the activities of others who learned from Phelps, and I am praying for God to obstruct Phelps as well, in whatever way suits His will and exalts Christ.
