You best know a person by what they say “off the cuff”. Scripted speech means nothing.

That's not the issue. Whether scripted or off-the-cuff, Romney made a poor formulation. It amounts to a gaffe. Obviously Romney doesn't admire Hezbollah.

A shame he backed away, there's truth in what he said.

I recently read a proposal that, rather than provide palestinian aid, we should establish a network of American schools in the West Bank and in Iraq.

Provide breakfast and lunch for the students, as do Hamas and Hizbollah.

Perhaps emphacize secular success, things like a job and a wife and kids and a car and those thinks rather than jihad.

Compete, and see if the kids come.

IMO, not a bad idea, though feasable only in the few places we have the leverage to get it started.

After all, we do allow our Saudi allies to preach jihad in institutions wherever they wish to place them.
