Where he steps in it is by using the term “diplomacy”. If he had said that these actions are what allow hostile groups to develop bases of support and frankly if America was to take more of these steps then people would have a better alternative to turn to and see our commitment to building better relationships and promoting freedom and better standards of living around the world. We would also be denying terrorist organizations a major source of support.

It's foreign policy where I've said numerous times--from December to May on some of these threads--where I feared Mitt's "leadership."

What I said then, I'll say again: If Mitt can't even properly define (or even come close to defining) what historic Christianity is (since his LDS filter distorts it), how is he going to define a Middle Eastern home-grown religion like Islam with all of its political & violent spin-offs?

It has long been known that the money that backs al Qaeda doesn’t come from bin Laden’s fortune. It comes from wealthy donors in oil producing nations that donate to charities located throughout the Middle East. Billions are given. And behind one charity, Islamic group or business is yet another. Some of these millions eventually end up in the hands of the terrorists.

>> Romney said. “That kind of diplomacy is something that would help America become stronger around the world ...

Shameful comments. Prior to this incident, I wouldn’t have ruled out a vote for Romney. That’s certainly not the case now. To cite the deeds of thugs as emblematic gestures the United States should follow is simply ludicrous. The comments are unacceptable and retraction is pointless.

Here’s a euphamism for Romney’s retraction:

Instead of saying “That dog won’t bark”, lets just say that

“That dog won’t get strapped to the station wagon roof.”

Right on. Entire Rep party is suspect to me now for this gaffe from such a frontrunner....it would have been better to let the Dems do it..he should not have beaten them to the punch.

The analogy wasn’t bad, but the headline? Oh, my.

A shame he backed away, there's truth in what he said.

I recently read a proposal that, rather than provide palestinian aid, we should establish a network of American schools in the West Bank and in Iraq.

Provide breakfast and lunch for the students, as do Hamas and Hizbollah.

Perhaps emphacize secular success, things like a job and a wife and kids and a car and those thinks rather than jihad.

Compete, and see if the kids come.

IMO, not a bad idea, though feasable only in the few places we have the leverage to get it started.

After all, we do allow our Saudi allies to preach jihad in institutions wherever they wish to place them.

Romney is having a bad day.

Now he says if the surge is working, lets get out.

Can you describe the origins of that photograph?

That's a photo by Walter Frentz, "the Eye of the Third Reich". Probably taken at the Wolf's Lair, Hitler's secret military HQ in East Prussia.

Thanks. I ask because of the color quality. I was thinking it was one of: doctored, colorized, enhanced, or authentic.

I expect to see only b/w photos from that era.

That photo is very interesting. Hitler is wearing his “Supreme Commander” uniform in that photo. It is not a uniform one sees commonly in photos of that genocidal maniac.

I thought that was how success in Iraq was defined: stand up the Iraqis so we can go home.

What do you propose as the alternative?

Romney had made the comparison in explaining why he would expand on President Bush's AIDS program in Africa, widely regarded as earning goodwill.

It is easy to be generous with others peoples money.
Do *not* vote for Rudy Mc-Romney
They can't beat Hillary anyway.

So, then, I take that comment to mean he approves of my Senator?

I stand by my statement he’s a conservative poseur, this is further proof, and I will not support him anymore then I support Patty.

That's probably an Agfacolor. The Germans were ahead in color photography.
