I can't hear you say that without thinking of the immortal German/Irish-bashing line from The Godfather, spoken to Corleone consigliere Tom Hagen in that scene's time frame, the late 40s. It just goes to show how politically correct we have become, because the objectionable words spoken in that movie were common parlance at the time.
I think O'Reilly is wrong that the level of hate has risen in this country. It has merely slid into different pockets than it was kept in before. Absurdly, he used a clip from a film apparently giving the history of white racism in the South during the 1950s to illustrate his point, even though the Civil Rights struggle ultimately produced enormous gains for many people of all colors.
O'Reilly needs to take a nice sabbatical and think things over for awhile.
