The problem with liberals is that any time they’re criticized or brought up short for something they’ve said or done, it’s HATE SPEECH. cheez.

But I have to say, and this is absolutely my opinion, I looked at Free Republic and I looked at Daily Kos, and Daily Kos is far worse. They revel in this kind of stuff.

On first reading, the interview seems fair, until you read the actual quotes, or non-quotes.

I doubt that Bill did the research himself. He shouldn't have said that he did. In either case, he owes FR an on-air apology. And the researcher should answer for this gross distortion of the facts.

I’m mad at O’Reilly for this reason: HE COMPARED US TO A HATE-FILLED SITE LIKE DK.

What an INSULT.

What are you planning?

All I see below your post is a boat load of embarrasing responses. Gutter humor, childish cropped up pictures.

No where is there a plan to expose O’Reilly on a broader scale. Is that what you are implying?

Yeah, I suppose he’s not all bad. His french boycott was good. I still don’t like him. It boils down to honesty and integrity, which he lacks. I have more respect for Alan Colmes than I do for BOR. At least Colmes believes his own rhetoric. BOR just does and says whatever he thinks is best for his business plan. He has no core values that I can detect.

You can't win a pissing contest with a clever man when he controls the playing field because he will change the rules.

You that clever. I call that a bully.

The worst we could do to Bill is ignore him for the prat that he is.

YES.

Last nite O’Reilly yelled at Dodd that he didn’t know where he heard about what you posted. Or what he had said.

Dodd did say it was on his show, which I believe it was.

O’Reilly blamed it on Media Matters and said Oh, you got it from them so it is not true.

MM actually has a clip of Bill saying EXACTLY what Dodd accused him of saying.

Good to remember. If Media Matters ever proves something about anyone, it is therefore not true. Huh? LOL

More:

From the November 8 (2005) broadcast of Fox News' The Radio Factor with Bill O'Reilly:

O'REILLY: Hey, you know, if you want to ban military recruiting, fine, but I'm not going to give you another nickel of federal money. You know, if I'm the president of the United States, I walk right into Union Square, I set up my little presidential podium, and I say, "Listen, citizens of San Francisco, if you vote against military recruiting, you're not going to get another nickel in federal funds. Fine. You want to be your own country? Go right ahead."

And if Al Qaeda comes in here and blows you up, we're not going to do anything about it. We're going to say, look, every other place in America is off limits to you, except San Francisco. You want to blow up the Coit Tower? Go ahead.

The 210-foot Coit Tower was dedicated in 1933 and contains a museum and murals that depict working life in 1930s California.

Disclaimer: Media Matters generally stinks IMO.

Ignore him. Boycott him, his radio show, his TV show, and his store of useless items.

Why doesn't O'Reilly volunteer to moderate? He'd get a lot of good info by reading the posts on FR (instead of just doing searches for inflamatory phrases taken out of context).

Of course, O'Reilly has lots of money so he could donate the funds it would take for a professional moderator if he feels that is what is necessary.

Nah, he'd rather just whine, complain and scream.

Gee, sounds like a liberal to me.

He's a liberal, but he has integrity and courage.

O'Reilly doesn't have a bit of integrity. If he did, he wouldn't have quoted phrases out of context in an effort to bolster his rash statement that FR was a 'hate' site.

When he apologizes for doing so on his show, then I might credit him with a little integrity.

O’Reilly is such an ignorant man. I can’t believe he graduated from Chaminade, but I guess somebady had to be last in the class.

O'Reilly: And if Al Qaeda comes in here and blows [San Francisco] up, we're not going to do anything about it.

My gosh...O'Reilly is more self-destructive than I thought

"Why doesn't O'Reilly volunteer to moderate?..."

Lol! He would not qualify. You can see from the original article how well he understood the posts he was given to look at! And then HE has the effrontery to suggest paid moderators etc.

His idea is really impractical. You really would have to preview each post which would slow the forum to a crawl. Posts on different threads appear as they are posted all mixed together in a stream as anyone can see in the latest messages page.

All that a Moderator could pick out would be obvious profanity, racial slurs or threats. O'Reilly couldn't do it as we see from his comments relative to the actual posts the producer sent Kristinn.

The stream of posts jumping from thread to thread and the shear volume and 24/7 nature of Free Republic would keep a Moderator from following the context of every post to control bad content. What is an inappropriate post in one context is OK in another and that could only be evaluated on a thread by thread basis. There are thousands of threads every day at Free Republic. It is impossible to sit on each thread with an attainable staff level. Some of those threads have thousands of posts and can go on for days.

Also, posters usually do not read every post on a thread. They simply would not see a bad post to report it and many have an aversion to being a "tattle tale" anyway.

Anyone who ever Moderated a forum would instantly know O'Reilly's suggestion is Nitwittery.

Hypocrite. Some one needs to mod him.

I'll say!! He says he's looking out for us. It's apparent that he doesn't care about the innocent children of San Francisco.

Hey, Rush has done more for this country than anyone else. If he has to take commercial breaks so be it. I have been listening to him for for almost as long as he has been on the air and he has gone way over a lot of times when speaking with a caller. If we have to listen to commercials to get the best of Rush in 3 hours...then I am willing to sacrifice. He’s the man. Always has been and always will be. He’s more powerful than anyone else in this country. Glad you still tune in cause Rush is where you will get the true facts and not lies. He is who he is and thank GOD for our country he is who he is. We are blessed to have him. I know everyone says “where’s Rush?” when he is off. Well, he has put in many years on TV and Radio and I think his time off now and then is well deserved. When has he EVER taken a week or two weeks off like most working people do? Is this genius not entitled to take HIS vacations like the rest of us? He takes a few days here or there. Rush is the most honest source of news today. He deserves his time off. I’m willing to wait until he comes back. He’s worth every minute of my time and I am so glad he is the voice me me and millions of others.
