I agree it's a tragedy that the kid got shot. But I also understand that the reason our society is in it's current state, is because nobody takes care of themselves and their own. Crime is rampant. Car jackings, home burglaries etc etc. And part of the reason is because we are a society of "let's go to the psychobable counselor and talk it out". We expect an overbudened court system to solve every aspect of our lives.
It's a tragedy that the kid got shot... but I'll bet he wasn't completely surprised by it. Really dumb choices in life sometimes return really bad outcomes.
