Lake Ponchartrain Causeway — 26 miles across water, and every now and then a barge hits it.

I live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and work in D.C. I take the Chesapeake Bay Bridge twice a day.

Or the Illinois 80 bridge during an ice storm and watch a truck hit one side and topple into the the water from the other. A very long fall.
