Well she does mention it warming them up on a cold day. Sounds like actual beer. And Harry has firewhisky at least once I can remember. Just pointing it out. I am Catholic so I don't care ;-D

I didn't think that they meant warmth from alcohol. I just assumed that it was a magical property of the drink, sort of like the candies that levitated you, or sent smoke out of certain bodily orifices... Though I also remember reading that Honeydukes did sell some firewhiskey candies.
