The moderators on Freerepublic are some of the most well balanced and sharpest referees around.
I’ve been reading and posting for years, and have yet to see one instance where such a comment survived past a few minutes.
I suspect that the concept of volunteers seems a bit threatening to O’Rielly.
His comments were little short of slander.

Bumping your suggestion. A good one.

I wanted to send a note to him about all the prayer threads and the Religion forum and the Daily Posts there. Plus other daily posts like the Canteen and the Dose that are always so positive!

I saw that too and found it hard to believe. FR does a good job of deleting stuff like that.

O’Reilly made the accusation, so the burden of proof is on him. Until he provides sourced quotations in context, it’s just a lot of loose talk, which would be nothing new for him. I once heard him hold forth in complete ignorance on what’s in the US Constitution. It was especially dumb since his guest was Ann Coulter. She did exactly what you would expect her to do.

If the posts were referring to articles, it appears Mr. O’Reilly has slandered the website.

Any lawyers out there that could shed light on course of action?

A lawsuit might force O’Reilly to retract his statements on the air.

What’s to stop another Ash or a lefty troll from posting their crap here?

I think another reason that O’Reilly is upset with FR is that on the evening that the Kennedy/McCain shamnesty bill was presented to the public, O’Reilly had an Hispanic leader on his show and he said to him, “You won big, AMIGO.” Well we all know that FR was instrumental in proving O’Reilly wrong, again.

BOR - He’s smarmy. You could peruse any website and find bigoted or predjudicial statements.

Websites are a cross section of society, and we all know that bigotry exists in all of us in different forms. Why, I’ll be we could review some of BOR’s tapes and find some questionable material.

But if BOR is suggesting that FR fosters or encourages bigotry, he is dead wrong. I am proud of the majority on this site who have called out those who have made ignorant statements. Interesting that BOR has missed those posts.

The ‘I hate blacks’ quote appears to refer to discussions of a column of that title that appeared in an Asian paper: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1793274/posts, among others.

So instead of ‘liar’, perhaps we can just say that he is intellectually dishonest, in an MSM kind of way.

He’s a liar. It’s ridiculous for him to claim all those things were posted today. I’ve been here almost nine years and haven’t seen those three particular comments in that entire time. Someone on DKOS probably accused us of it and BOR’s taking it as gospel. He’s as bad as Dan Rather. No credibility whatsoever.

Bill O’Reilly is a liar and an idiot douchebag. We’ve known this for quite some time.

But even the premise is a slander. O’Reilly could always open a FR account and post the things that he wants to condemn later that day on his show — or some lib trolls could decide it is a good time to post the things that the TOOL could use against FR.

It’s as stupid and slanderous as buying a crappy used car from a newspaper classified ad and then blaming the paper for it while also indicting everyone else who posted an ad in the paper.

I think O'Reilly is for Hillary and he wants to shut down FR's ability to challenge her.

Who made O'Reilly the only one that is allowed to speak about anything, especially politics? Who made him the ruler of the world? Besides he is wrong on many things but thinks he is right about everything.

I stopped watching Bill O’FullOCrap about three years ago. He gets on my last nerve because he starts spewing before he has the facts. I spend about three to four hours reading posts every night. Always reading back to the point where I left off the night before. Thats a lot of Free Republic and I have never seen anything like he describes. I am wondering if someone may have created a fake post and forwarded it to old Bill as a news item. He acts as if he doesn't even know how the site works. I think maybe he should shut up and do some reading.

Never rely on 'staff' to do you're thinking for you, one has lost control.

Doesn't happen with Rush, Sean, Mark, Glenn, Laura and all the others.

Tall Bill, is a non-innocent victim of his producers, and his own lack of a 360 complete compass.

To be sure he gets it right most of the time, but when he strays from the reservation it's inevitable failure, albeit short-time.

OK, check this out.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1857044/posts?q=1&;page=951

Scroll down to post 964. Now if this is his evidence, it is ridiculous. This is not an expression of personal sentiment, it is written half in jest about the Senator from West Virginia.

Well, his name used to be “I hate blacks, Jews and Sp***”, now he is a loving member of the Democrat party!

Jim, I forget to cc you on my post above, #72. I think you should demand that O'Reilly produce his evidence unless someone else here can find it. At the moment I have a feeling he was duped by some low level munchkin on his staff.

I have sent emails to just about everyone at Fox News I could get an email on to express my disgust at BOR’s misrepresentation of the statements he claims were made by FR. I reminded them that FR researchers meticulously searched everything from IBM typewriters to the proper use of USAF standard correspondence when they caught Dan Rather with his lies and the members will research where they believe BOR got the information he reported as fact...FR is and can be very meticulous and factual to the point of absurdity. The MSM can’t hold a candle to the information and knowledge that members of the FR possess.

BOR gets 10 hours a week on radio, 5 hours a week on TV, he writes a column, and books, not to mention his speeches that he does around the country and he wants to deny the average American the right to speak on an Internet forum. It sounds like he is an elitist and a snob.
