Oh my. O’Reilly humble? Gotta disagree on that one.
His show has really gone down the tubes. Mostly because of his arrogance. He seems to be trying to clone Rush. Doesn’t work for O’R though.
Rush beats them all.
Please read my post again.
I didn’t say he won any humility medals.
And look who I said he was more humble than! LOL.
However, I do believe that he mostly knows he’s pretty human and in SOME respects doesn’t take himself as seriously as he tends to come across.
On the other hand, he’s used to being what—6’4” or 6’6” tall—a big man; a forceful man etc. and he doesn’t suffer fools gladly or easily.
But there are some signs of SOME authentic humility amidst all the forceful personality that capitalizes on what Watchman Nee would call “soul force” and on his personality, intellectual and verbal skills. BOR has tons of soul force and is not at all afraid to use it. There’s hazard in that but that’s him.
I have a sense that in a lot of situations, BOR would be self-effacing far more than your average politican. But in his role on TV, and even radio—he’s not going to give much ground, if at all and certainly not without a forceful fight.
And, to some degree, he uses his personna as currency. He knows he’s intimidating and uses it as a type of power with which to manipulate his guests . . .
I think part of it is trying to get a maximum amount of stuff in the times lot and part of it is the driven kind of way he SEEMS to live his life.
I think if the man was totally arrogant, he would not do a lot of the things he does nor do a good many of them in the tone and manner he does. He’s far from pure arrogance.
