I don’t know what Detroits graduation rate is, but I GUARANTEE YOU THIS! It isn’t remotely near the 67% which was the high number offered in the article.. you have to fudge the numbers big time to remotely come close to a near 70% graduation rate.
Its definately under 50%, no doubt.
When you have a city in such collapse that the people who have fled are now moving their ancestors graves out of the city because they don’t feel safe enough to visit a graveyard in the middle of the day there.. you have a big problem.
Here ya go. From last year
Detroit fared the worst, with a rate of 21.7 percent

Yes. Members of my family still living in the suburbs have had the bodies of family members moved to suburban cemeteries.
Amazing how nobody in the MSM has covered any of this, at least that I’m aware of...but for Gingrich we wouldn’t be talking about Detroit.

When I graduated in '74 there were over 4000 students at my school and my spring/summer graduating class had close to 800 in it. (There was also a winter graduating class which would have put the total for the year close to the expected 1000 for the size of the student body.) My school was probably was one of the three best schools in the city at the time. I was shocked when I saw these stats a few years ago. I don't know how they figure graduation rates but this doesn't look like it would hit 20%!

In Detroit its less than 25% ( about 23% last I heard ) the rest of the state is about 85%.
