Walsh was an offensive genius. He was so far ahead of the other coaches of his era. It truly gave the 49ers an unfair advantage over other teams.

And he as an extensive coaching legacy: Dennis Green, Mike Holmgren, Andy Reid, Brian Billick, to name just a few.....

Some NFL analyst did this clever “geneology” of current head coaches vis-a-vis offensive styles. It came down to something like three patriarchs, Walsh being one of them.

RIP, Coach. He would dig my Seahawks.
