I am amazed and appalled that Free Republic can be used in this manner as a proselyting opportunity for one religious sect.

Why is this allowed on the “News Activism” threads and not in the Religion Forum where it seems to belong?

If this is the way FreeRepublic wants to represent themselves then I suppose it is up to Jim Robinson. To me, the use of the News forum as a way to “missionary,” is totally inappropriate.

I am sorry you are taking this that way but I am only defending my faith that has been held to scorn by many freepers for on going months because of a LDS who is running for president so my faith have become a free for all, if you go over the thread many have choosen to harpoon the LDS.

No opposition voice is being stifled

This thread is a backlash to my decision explained here. The disposition of it is pending review.

You need to think about this a little differently. I have a long posting history of opposition to Mormonism based on real life experiences that have impinged on the political and business world (Harry Reid is one small example). As you go through these threads, I think you will find they do more damage to Mormon interests than not, because as we develop the history of Joseph Smith it becomes clear he was nothing but an adulterous, philandering, secessionist, tinpot general/King/Presidential wannabe with roots in the occult. I don’t think they are winning any converts, just the contrary.

This seems very strange to me also. I lurked for a long time before I joined, and I don't remember seeing this before.

I wonder if it is a new thing, and next week we will have a meeting for the "Church of Christ" which I understand Fred Thompson is. That would be only fair, I believe. And then the next week, maybe another religion so the other canidates can be featured.

No one made you read it. That is one great thing about this site. No one makes you read every thread.

I think we should proselytize Freepers to the Church of Shatnerology

Funny video about it.

All Hail Shatner!

Or maybe the Church of the sub-Genius/Slack lead by Bob Dobbs.

Funny video about this one.
