Acetylene is stored in tanks dissolved in acetone in a ceramic sponge. It does not tolerate high pressures well and will become unstable and explode. Pressures over 15 psi for the gas in use are NOT reccommended.

Damaged tanks can form high pressure bubbles in the tank, with disastrous results.

That may what started all this.

You can tell these folks on the live feed never worked near a welding shop...
