CNN Just interview a passenger who has been on a stranded Amtrak since 9:30 a.m.
More calls are coming in from passengers on the train.
Seems this lady wants off and Amtrak is saying to the passengers they don't know when that will happen.
Rumors are the tracks are washed out at both ends.
Food, water, air, toilets still in good shape.
Just seems to be very frustrated passengers due to lack on info.
So they wanted to reach a live national news show to let them know they are stuck.
The Anchor on CNN said well sounds like they are not in danger or lacking food/toilet so you can't say anything negative about Amtrak.
The other anchor said maybe we should send them all copies of Harry Potter to keep them occupied (sarcastically speaking).
Even worse, they ran out of coffee.
CHEE this is a very important thread and if there are other thread let us hook up on links.
I get really ill like a bad carnival ride with the disruptors.
I don’t take what you folks are going thru to lite I saw pics on the news...and they were not looking for Hollaway in Texas.
It does not matter one bit if it is normal now and then to get floods...the important thing is that no deaths occur and all are taken to safe grounds before extreme rescue measures go in effect. Yes?
Do ya’ll have a main thread? I will post over there if not we need to clean up this thread with the nay sayers. Let me know.
BD476 is a great Freeper for resources such as maps and we have some great at site freepers giving updates.
God Bless you all. Be Safe. Stay Dry. G-2010
No doubt. There are much worse places to be stranded. As long as the a/c and toilets work, an Amtrak train can be rather comfortable. I'd snag some stuff from the club car and read a book.
“So are they just going to leave those poor people sitting on the tracks until the waters receed?”
They did it in New Orleans.
Whether it’s airports, hospitals, and apparently stuck trains, CNN loves a captive audience. Yet with all those captive eyeballs, they still can’t come within half of FNC’s regular viewers?
The passenger who called CNN is wanting to use this as an opportunity to grasp a few seconds of 'fame'.
