It’s still stunning to me that Murtha is in Congress after the evidence in Abscam about him hit the press. Idiot voters in that district. No offense to idiots intended.

It’s a on-going problem. Congressional and sentate reps who stay in office forever. They gain seniority become very good at bringing home the bacon. Get good commitee leadership positions. And the fear of districts and states losing that power is great. Ted Stevens and Alaska is another example. Even if it reaches the point of these old geezers drooling through the day and soiling their Depends, they keep getting sent back.
