I'd rank that generation second, First goes to the 1953-62 pocket rocket.

I never liked the swoopy lines of the '70s "stingray," and the Covettes since have been nice -- certainly can't fault the performance, especially at the price -- but I don't think they've ever matched the style of those early years.

Agreed. Although I much prefer the notchback line of the convertibles to the ‘40s-”sedanette” look of the coupes.

Nice cars, now to have a heart attack, look at the going prices. Small blocks are merely astronomical, big block, forget it.
