I've never understood people who buy brand new pickup trucks. If you take it in the woods, the tree branches will damage the paint, and you really can't haul anything of substance without scratching and denting the bed. You can pull a trailer with them, but that's about it.
In my family, it wasn’t a real truck until it got so scratched Earl Scheib couldn’t help it.

Somebody has to buy them new. It’s just like all the people who say you should never buy a new car - do I have to point out that if everyone followed that advice their supply of good, used cars would soon dry up?
My father always told me to never buy a used car - all you’re doing is buying someone else’s problems.
Still, if you need a work truck, buying a used one that’s never been used for anything other than commuting is probably a good move - it’s what I’d probably do.
