Predators naturally go where the prey are likely to be found.

Predators will also try to hide from the prey animals trying to blend in to the background.

Natural hunting grounds for pedophiles are schools and children’s organizations like Scouting and church youth groups. (YMCA, CYO)

Camouflage easy to come by is as a volunteer; scout master, instructor or if one wants to get paid and has no interest in adults at all Priest.

What does not often get much press typically is that the protestant denominations have had same sort of problems in similar numbers. But because the Catholic Church is the favorite boggy man of the Left because of its uncompromising stance on abortion and its stead fast refusal to ordain women the Catholic Priest get the most press coverage. I will also point out the Catholic victims are also favored by the Tort Lawyers because of the Catholic Church’s deep pockets.

The public schools also have the problem. They, of course, are protected by the doctrine of sovereign immunity.

I would agree on all counts.

“Natural hunting grounds for pedophiles are schools and children’s organizations like Scouting and church youth groups. (YMCA, CYO)” - very true.

In response, these groups, as far as my experience goes, do heavy screening now, including fingerprinting. Scouts have strongly enforced rules about “two deep” adult supervision camping, and so forth - no man is to be alone with a scout.

The church needs to do the same or similar. Then I’d believe the apology!

Don’t worry, they are coming after Protestants next, in fact i recently read in the Boston Globe(alist) about uncovering such problems in Protestant churches (the Globe takes special delight in denigrating evangelicals.)

But the proportion is not the same, and as i recall among Protestant they were more heterosexual problems. We are in a culture in which sensuality is the most evident prevalent sin, and we must either become like the culture of change it. And if you believe a dead gospel, how much more vulnerable you are to it’s pervasive, persuasive perversities.

Besides her homosexual priests however, what stood out was Rome’s typical recalcitrance when caught. This comes from her taking on the form of the autocratic Roman empire in which she found herself, and in accordance with her historic doctrines, she is thus answerable to no one. How dare the State prosecute her! And as a result primarily of her iniquity, law enforcement now has gone rather boldly where they feared to go before, standing in the holy place where they ought not need to be!

In like autocratic presumption, Rome makes the Bible a second place authority, and equal to the chaff of tradition out which it was separated from (as the wheat), with her Teaching Magisterium being supreme. By which she displays contempt for the Bible in mandating a celibate priesthood (except for Orthodox converts). For while a foremost requirement for Bishops/Elders/Pastors (same office) is that they be “the husband of one wife” (1Tim. 2:1, 2; Titus 1:5-7), as were Peter and all the other apostles except Paul(1Cor. 9:5); And while 1Cor. 7:7 makes it clear the celibacy is a gift, Rome assumes all clergy must have this gift, and unScripturally mandates a celibate priesthood. One can debate if singles are forbidden to be clergy, but not whether married men are - even if it is “only” a church law.

But of course, Rome’s separate class of sacerdotal priests itself is unScriptural, as all believers are priests, penned Peter (1Pet. 2:5), and overseers are what are ordained under the New Covenant, not a sacrificing priesthood after the Old.

And finally, in accordance with her self-exaltation, Rome preaches a dead gospel, in which she fosters faith in her presumed powers and one’s own merits gained thereby for salvation, whereby many are damned, rather than repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His sinless blood (Acts 20:21; Rm. 3:25), whereby one is washed, sanctified and justified (Rm. 3:9-5:1: 1Cor. 6:11). Praise ye the LORD!
