Well, tobyhill, the only way that horse is dead is because Americans, and FReepers chief among them, rose up in extreme anger against it. And, like any dead horse, it can be replaced in an instant with another just the same. This has got to be kept front and center for a long time, your views notwithstanding.
It can be and should be front and center but not at the expense of every thread that gets posted.
