You folks love to take credit for increasing life-spans, but the facts are that your drugs are a large factor in keeping us from achieving a 120 - 130 year lifespan we all should have.

So, if I go back far enough in history so that there was no real medicine, say about the year 1000, then everyone then lived to be 130? You are on to a truly massive conspiracy! This means all the history books have been altered!

My grandmother died of breast cancer seven years after she told anyone of her lump. Her biggest mistake was having a biopsy done, which never healed but she still lived those seven years and never did any treatment of any kind.

I am highly suspicious of chemo, radiation, etc. because before I would ever consent to it, I would want some kind of prediction as to how long I would be expected to live if I received treatment compared to how long I would be expected to live without treatment.

That works if you are young and healthy
if you are older or do not drink enough water, there have been serious electrolyte problems. Unfortunately, that will not be an option next time, it is being removed from the market.

Thanks for the recommendation. It’ll be another four years or so before I need another colonoscopy, but I will ask for that phospho-soda. I simply cannot tolerate drinking a gallon of salt water, which is what the golytely tastes like to me. I just can’t get it down. To me, drinking that was by far the worst part of the process.

"I'm refering to the fact that your body's ability to reproduce it's cell structure declines as you age."

Rubbish.

You and others have accused me of being irrational.

Why? Because I disagree with standard medical thinking.

What is so irrational about questioning a never-proven... and unprovable.... theory... that brings enormous amounts of money to those who promote it?

1000 years ago the scientific community proudly promoted the theory that the sun revolved around the earth. It was put forth not as a theory, but as fact. Those who questioned it were regarded as kooks.

700 years ago the scientific community proudly promoted the theory that the earth is flat. It was put forth not as a theory, but as fact. Those who questioned it were viewed as kooks.

300 years ago the medical community bled people to cure disease. Anyone who questioned it was viewed as a kook.

Today the medical community supports the theory that an organism can somehow change it's own DNA structure through sheer force of will. It is not put forth as theory, but as fact.

That theory is, of course, rubbish. Yet those who disagree with it are viewed as kooks.

It is not surprising at all that my questioning the current germ theory of disease would get me viewed as a kook.

The grand conspiracy theory breaks down when you consider individual doctors.

There are bad doctors out there — doctors who are more concerned with money than the well being of their patients. But they are the exception rather than the rule.

IF cures to dreaded diseases like cancer and Alzheimer’s were known but being hidden so more drugs could be sold, there would be not a few, but many, many doctors objecting and bucking the system to get the victims of these diseases treated and cured.

How many doctors themselves are afflicted with these diseases, or have loved ones afflicted?

Now, I don’t know of any doctor who claims that medicine has all the answers, but what they do do is use the best information available to them at the time to try to maintain and improve their patients’ health.

"The grand conspiracy theory breaks down when you consider individual doctors."

It is interesting... and humorous... how people read into something, something that was not said.

I don't recall saying that doctors are involved in some sort of consipiracy.

I did say that medical science... in general... is the problem.

What individual doctors believe is... generally... the result of their training... what they are taught in medical school.

Most doctors accept as fact what they are taught in medical school, and never question it (even though everything they are taught about the "germ theory of disease" is pure rubbish).

You are quite right. Most doctors out there do care about the well-being of their patients... but what they are doing for their patients is based on myth and junk science, and therefore does not give the hoped-for outcome.

Individual doctors are really not the problem. It is those who formulate the false concepts taught to doctors that are the problem.

I refuse to accept the notion that medical science in general is acting in good faith when there is so much money to be made from promoting and perpetuating the current myths.

Some few doctors do finally question what they have been taught after seeing failure after failure after failure of that teaching to produce the intended results.

They are indeed brave souls. Doctors who question the current tide of medical thinking are viewed as kooks, quacks, vilified by the system, and sometimes hounded right out of practice.

They share the same fate as those who 300 years ago questioned bleeding, and those who 700 years ago said the earth is round.

"Oddball, Kelly's Heroes"

"Woof Woof!" Who was that? Donald Sutherland? The tank driver? That is a great movie. :)

That’s cause you are being irrational.

What’s with the bizarro posting history anyway?

You’ve been here 6 years and it’s 4 1/2 pages long?

Gaps of years with a few odd posts thrown in?

Is it some kind of sleeper troll account?

What’s your other/previous screenname?

Who the hell are you? The posting-history cop?

Being accused of irrationaltiy by one who brings no credible opposing argument to the table, who resorts to attacking the person because they can’t attack the argument, somehow doesn’t bother me much.

I consider the source.

Posting history is there for all to see and access.
Why are you so touchy about it?
Were all those gaps times you’ve been banned?

You never provided any answer to the questions people have asked you; all you’ve done is attack and disparage- the very thing you’re condemning in others.

I’ve seen other people like the poster, they have generally had a bad experience with medicine/doctors/nurses/insurance/whatever and they look around on the web or in a health-food store and land on this kind of kookery with both feet. Then, they dig into the subject, read some of the more far-out stuff, and then because they have no real knowledge base, they buy into it, identify with the promulgators of these theories, and then try to defend them to the death. If they don’t have any actual conflict in real life, they come to a board like this and start it..

Sigh.

It was a fun thread, until...

This is fun folks, but I have other things to do.

If someone wants to bring a credible factual opposing argument, I’ll field it.

Personal attacks... well... consider the source.
