"I disgraced myself, and my mother deserves a better son than me.” Terapon Adhahn said those words to a counselor 17 years ago, during treatment for a sex offense he admitted committing. What he said to Tacoma police Thursday is unknown, but information from Adhahn, 42, led investigators to the body of 12-year-old Zina Linnik, missing since July 4.
"It is with great regret and sorrow that I am informing our community that we have located the body of Zina Linnik," Tacoma Police Chief Don Ramsdell said Thursday, Ramsdell provided little more information, saying only that Linnik’s body was found in Pierce County. Police are expected to provide more information today. As of this morning, Adhahn had not been charged...Since Monday, he has been in federal custody on unrelated immigration charges...
Adhahn’s legal status is complicated. He is an immigrant who has lived in the United States for 30 years, since he was 13. He is a military veteran who twice enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He is a sex offender. Federal authorities had legal grounds to deport him 17 years ago, after his 1990 conviction for incest. They didn’t.
“He escaped our attention,” said Lorie Dankers, spokeswoman for Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Seattle.
Local authorities could have held Adhahn to strict standards regarding sex offender registration as recently as two years ago. They didn’t, perhaps because Adhahn wasn’t perceived as an imminent threat. He was 25 at the time of his 1990 conviction. The victim was his 16-year-old half-sister. The circumstances: a drunken attack on the girl, according to court records...Adhahn’s guilty plea led to a 60-day jail sentence and a 60-month regimen of sex offender treatment. He completed the required treatment by 1997 and was classified as a level 1 – the category deemed least likely to reoffend...

Not only was he illegal and a convicted sex offender, he was registered to vote. Good grief.
I can’t think which is worse. I emailed the paper but so far they haven’t fixed it. Maybe they don’t know any better.
The military will take non-citizens if they have a SSN and fewer than 2 misdemeanor convictions. Certainly won’t give them a security clearance, though.
I'd have a lot more respect for ICE if they'd reorder their "to do" list and put deporting criminals at the top, ahead of busting working stiffs and splitting up families.
There should be no registered sex offenders in our country, IMHO. Specifically if they are convicted child molesters. They should either get the needle, or be incarcerated (gen. population) for life, with no chance for parole.
When they are released on to our streets, no child is ever safe. Not for a second. They cannot be cured. There IS no cure. And they always repeat the most vile acts imaginable.
I don’t know that the headline is so bad. Sister Godzilla of the Purple Passion, my favorite grammar school teacher, would certainly have given him an “F” in Deportment (right before she turned his knuckles into chopped beefsteak).
This is horrible. I will bet the dimwits and GW are going to see that the illegals stay until after the elections. We must not let them do this.
Build the fence and deport all illegals and anchor babies now.

Either he had a fraudulent enlistment, or he was a resident alien at one time.
