Neither hypocrisy nor the double standard ever bothered the left.

As far as I can see Vitter has acted with great character regarding his past sins. I’ve yet to see a democrat do the same. I still question why this dc madam is revealing only republicans, I want the whole list published, I am sick of it being cherry picked.

I don't excuse Vitter's conduct. There should be consequences and Louisiana voters can decide if he's failed to live up to the standards expected of a Senator. My point is that's not Larry Flynt's decision to make.

Yes, we do have good people that will run but the corrupt national parties snuff them out. Case in point, there is no better man running for president than Duncan Hunter. Look how he is shut out.

Completely! Decent principled conservatives aren't good enough. Many on this forum were falling all over themselves with Rudy the adulterer, and now seem to be fawning over Hollywood b-list actor Fred.

I guess we're getting what we ask for..

True, but it sure seems that a lot of so called good folks are making light of the word, they sure are lining up to cast the first stone, but then they don't have to answer to you are me for that.

Now I call that being a hypocrite.

The last great gov of La. once said, the only way he couldn't get elected was if he was caught in bed with a dead girl, or live boy!

Now if it was mASSa chutesits he could be senator or representative!

At least DV is human and NORMAL! The Dhimis aren't gonna get any traction on this one!

Rush Limbaugh is not a part of my daily life. I can go for long periods of time without listening to him, but I must say this. He probably educates more people than the entire US Department of Education, and certainly more than the NEA.

It’s being reported that Larry Flynt has the names of 20 congressmen who arepatrons of Pamela Martin’s call-girl service, and he’s going to publish.
Mind you, Flynt says it’s not the sex, it’s the hypocrisy that gets under his skin. So brace yourselves for the outing of only the congressmen who ran on the family-values platform.

The unspoken premise of the left is that it is better to have no standards at all than to imperfectly follow a standard. If some people cheat the leftists take it to mean that honesty is useless.

I read that a Fla. State Rep was arrested yesterday for solicitation of (homosexual) prostitution.

I would not mind getting “Shaghai’ed” there. (OK, I am single. But I am not a Democrat, so maybe not a sexy as all these politicos. But I can dream.) Thanks for the first picture.

I could care less about David Vitter. I do care about dumber than a box of hammers leftists singling him out from I don’t know how many clients of this madam. How strange that they can’t find a Democrat in the bunch. Another example of the underhandedness of the Left and Democrats (two groups who are pretty much the same).

Rush daily insults my intelligence. He’s a paragon of moral relativism.

When you (meaning Vitter) campaign on a values platform, coauthor a federal marriage amendment banning gay marriage in the name of “protecting the sanctity of marriage,” rail against infidelity and deadbeat dads on the stump, issue press releases claiming to represent “Louisiana values, not Massachusetts values,” and then go and solicit prostitutes, you deserve to be ridiculed and derided and called out as a steaming hypocrite. I don’t care what anyone else or any other party does. It’s entirely irrelevant. How hard is it to not bang prostitutes? Seriously.

I also question this alleged double standard. Example in point: Newt’s no paragon of family values, having had an extramarital affair with a staffer, among other things. Yet he’s headlining this September’s values voters summit in Washington, put on by the Family Research Council and Focus on the Family. May I ask WHY???

I do wish Rush would shut his face sometimes. He’s embarrassing.

I say bravo for Larry Flynt in one regard. He takes no prisoners and conservatives basically do whatever he tells them to do. You have to admire a guy who can get republican to give up a speakership with little more than a peep. You have to admire a guy who can get republicans to resign by just shaking a dirty sheet at them. You have to admire a guy who can get conservatives to hand over control of congress to the liberals because their representatives are hypocritical jerks like Vitter. Imagine a conservative that had this power over liberals.

I wouldn’t purchase anything Flynt churns out, unless he releases a CD of himself singing 70’s pop ballads.
But for the most part, I agree with you.

It’s sad when when conservatives have to say “well the other guy was worse...”.

What I object to is hypocrisy - do as I say, not as I do. Don’t campaign as a “values” candidate when you don’t have them.

What also astounds me are the people who buy into the rhetoric. If you don’t think most Dems truly care about the poor, why do you assume Reps care about “family values”? It’s a shtick to get elected. Sheepple abound

99% of politicians are whores who’ll say whatever it takes to get elected.

I don't see anyone saying that Larry Flynt has decided that Vitter shouldn't be a Senator. As far as the Louisiana voters go, shouldn't they be allowed to know the truth? Flynt may not be anyone's idea of a great journalist, but what he was prepared to disclose about Vitter was the truth. Obviously Vitter's supporters don't want to hear the truth (even though this isn't the first time Vitter has been connected with prostitution).

Flynt doesn't get to vote for Louisiana Senator either way, but are you saying that he shouldn't be allowed to publish true, albeit negative, things about a Senator?
