“Its shameful that the gop puts us in this position.”

You have it so assbackwards and it’s the reason why we’re in this mess now. We have let the GOP dictate the rules and they haved reamed us.

(Btw, I am willing to retract that if you can point to a successful campaign for legislation or candidate who went on to do good things in office in the last 10 years).

Why don't you do that, then. There are a number of people in public office who would not be there right now without my work. And I've worked for many years as an advocate for the conservative cause. I'm sure there's a thing or two in law and policy I've had some small bit of influence over.

The rest of that post is stupid and not worth responding to.

“There are a number of people in public office who would not be there right now without my work.”
A) Who are they
B) Are they publicly advocating your POV on abortion or the GOP platform view?

Yeah Buckeye, what is up with you? Sure Duncan Hunter is proven and would clearly make the best President, but what does it matter if he has always believed these things and acted on them? Can’t you just be happy that candidates are SAYING these things now? You act as though we are electing the leader of the free world or something. Sure Hunter is solid on the issues and ahead of the curve on many and is principled and has character and you trust him and all that, but what fun is it to support someone you can trust? It sort of takes the mystery out of it, ya know? Don’t misunderstand, he would be the best, no doubt, but you see I am a sheeple and I need more. Do you realize how low Hunter is in the polls? If I could see a poll and say Hunter got 10-15% in that poll, then as a sheeple, that would be a more clear indication that I should support him. So don’t give me all this fact stuff about proven leadership and what he always believes yackety-yack and how solid he is on the issues and all that tripe. Show me a poll that tells me I should support him, a poll I can follow, cuz I’m a sheeple.

The Voice of the Sheeple will not be silenced!!!!! Well, you know unless there is a poll or something and everyone else is being silent and stuff.

Power to the Sheeple!

To me, it really looks like the “if you tell a lie enough, people will believe it” strategy to draw support away from other candidates. A dirty liberal and MSM trick that I see each and every day. Not a simple out-of-context quote or a disagreement over facts. The main overall article posted here is a magnet for that sort of thing, I suppose. I just spent about an hour of my time digging and researching a “bomb” that was conveniently thrown into the mix. Bummer. And the promise that there is “more to come”...double-bummer.

You are EXACTLY on point here...

I favor Duncan Hunter primarily. But, if Mr. Thompson wins the GOP nomination or is the most likely candidate to nullify Giussolini, he will get my enthusiastic backing, money, and precinct work.

If Ruby Julie-Annie is the GOP nominee, I vote with my feet.

They believe exactly what I believe. And no, I’m not going to allow you to drag out of me here who they are. You can call me a liar, as many idiots on this thread have done. But, remember, there are many here who know me personally, and they know full well I’m telling the truth, and that I strive mightily to do so in all my dealings.

This sums it up pretty well though.....

“AGAINST impeachment proceedings against President Clinton”

That is just more half truth intended to mislead though!

Fred Thompson voted for impeachment, on grounds of obstruction of justice, not perjury).

The perjury charge was defeated with 55 "not guilty" votes and 45 "guilty" votes.
On the obstruction-of-justice article, the Senate was evenly split, 50-50.

I believe that is why Thompson could adamantly state that Libby was clearly not guilty and that he would have pardoned Libby immediately after that verdict. Let the MSM and Viguerie suck on that for a while.

They’re throwing everything they can today. It’s like a free-for-all. They’re on the losing side of this and they know it, so they’re going to make it as nasty as possible until someone stops it.

A FReeper contacted Hunter’s campaign yesterday and asked about the activities on FR on Hunter’s behalf. The campaign specifically said that they and Duncan himself are against such behavior and wanted Hunter and Thompson supporters to work together. Maybe when someone posts that exchange, we can out some of the ones that are only out to divide all of us.

What a load of horsecrap!

On the critical issue of ending the abomination known as Roe v Wade, aka. abortion on demand --- there is no one on FR who is more passionate on saving the unborn child, than EternalVigilance. Human life is precious. The innocent unborn child is the most precious.

It IS up to the states, the second Roe vs. Wade is overturned. That’s not a matter even up for discussion. The Tenth Amendment will return the issue to the states.

This is not accurate. The SCOTUS would never write an opinion stating that Roe is overturned and leave it at that. I personally think that if Roe is overturned the Court will base their decision on the Fourteenth Amendment. The Court is not going to say they were wrong in finding a right to privacy and therefore will not return the matter to the states. I always find it incongruous that many of those who mock the Courts finding of a right to privacy under the "penumbra" analysis are often the same ones who think that the Tenth Amendment will require the issue be returned to the states. The Tenth Amendment also states that the people have all rights that are not given to the state and federal government, this certainly includes the right to privacy. The problem with the Roe decision is that the Court did not find that the enumerated right to life trumped the unenumerated right to privacy.

If the Court finds unborn children do, in fact, have a right to life, they will certainly find it to be a fundamental right protected by the U.S. Constitution. If they do, they will not rule that states have the authority to pass a law denying that fundamental right. The matter will be largely determined at the federal level, not the state level.

‘Duncan Hunter has ALWAYS believed what he believes now, and I feel confident that what he believes today, he will act on when he is President. I think we can all sleep better the day he is inaugurated!!’

Aint it the truth b/e aint it the truth....and when he DOES take office it’d be nice for him to institute a war room fully staffed and competent like whillie had. The libs never operated on a ‘rope a dope’ philosophy...that doesn’t work with the current crowd in d.c.....never will.....

Our guy also needs strong public support consisitent, loud and daily...both from w/in and w/out that war room, otherwise timidity sets in and timidity doesnt feed the bulldog...the best defense is......an agressive offence..i believe that’s in the marine training manual if im not mistaken. And I’m not mistaken.
